on my jet glass funnel, i use 2 for both fantasia and al fakher. On al fakher you might have to take one off after the first couple of minutes. once the smoke lightens up you'll add it back on. you'll need to do this until the coals are halfway used. at that poin you could leave both of them on and use a windcover.

2 cocos on my small tangiers superchief. at first, it's actually a lot of heat, but the superchief does a really good job of heat management. Your shisha won't burn like in a normal bowl. Just rotate every once in a while until coals are 1/2 size, then you are good for a while.

I go through 2 sets of 2 coals for a session... about 2 hours.

I use 2 coconara's on a standard ceramic bowl and 3 on a phunnel bowl

2 on a smaller surface bowl, but 3 on a wide one. This is for Nakhla and Al Waha by the way.

I use 3 on everything except Tangiers, start with 2 after about ten minutes add the third and replace with 3 each time afterwards.
