Cheap Cigars For A Beginner

Winter

Recommended Posts

I've become very interested in cigars lately and I just wanted to know if any of you guys liked any cheap cigars. If you can give me the name, taste/smoke quality, and anything else about the cigar, it'd be greatly appreciated.

My friends have all liked Dutch Masters and that may be the one I pick up first. Anyone have any info on them?

To name a few... Henry Clay cigars (they're like an improved version of Dutch Masters). As for tins, try and fin a tin of Macanudo cigars, or tins of ACID cigars. The Macanudo cigars are very mild, almost too mild for me. The ACIDs are aromatic cigars but don't let that dissuade you. They are quite good.

ANY carlos fuente is an instant win especially the opus x

Opus X's are definitely one of the best cigars available but I think they might be a little too complex for a novice cigar smoke and the prices for those are a bit prohibitive. As for CAO, see if you can find any of the Brazillia CAOs. Punches are also good, but they're quite potent.

just starting out go with something like a havana honey or a garcia y vega they're affordable and are pretty decent for a beginner. then you can move on to romeo y julieta's which i think is a good mid-range cigar for a beginner. then go to the carribean every once and a while like i do and keep some cubans in your pocket as you go back through customs.

i would have to agree that Cao makes some tasty smokes. Not to expensive, but smooth with a hint of flavor. If your looking for just a relaxed cigar "feel" smoke go pick up a pack of backwoods at seven/eleven. And if you ever feel like treating yourself, romeo julieta vintage twos are the best smoke ive ever had. Cuban or dominican they both smoke amazing.

I smoked my first cigar today and it went very well. My friend picked up a Strawberry Dutch Master while he was at a gas station. It was a very nice, smooth and tasty smoke. It left a very mild "burning" taste on my tongue, which I enjoyed. I will be looking more into cigars in the upcoming days. Thanks!

Romeo Y Julieta are quite soft, good for beginners, and great quality, too. Don't know if you can get them in the US, though. Partagas are from the Dominican Republic and should be available, they're somewhat cheap though. Cohiba are also from the DR, but more robust IMO. Favorites of Fidel Castro, btw. smile.gif

+1

A Romeo Y Julieta was my first real cigar.

More good cigars are the Arturo Fuente regular line and the Hemingway series by them. Also, Ghurka (spelling?) cigars are pretty good.
