What would be the benefits of an all glass design over the traditional design, or would this be just an aesthetic hookah?

The idea is to get the cleanest smoke possible; no metals, ceramics or anything. I think it being all clear, will also give a really cool look. I would imagine it would be easier to clean as well. People in other industries have sworn by glass for years so why not the hookah. We have glass bowls, now we just need the rest of the hookah to be glass. Roor made a pretty sweet looking all glass hookah at one point, i dont think they do anymore. I found a few places that have all glass hookahs, but i never hear anyone talking about them so im not sure how reputable they are.

Questions:
whats the max inside diameter a down stem should be; whats the min?
Are there certain ratios, as far as hose diameter, bowl stem diameter, and down stem diameter goes, that i need to be following so that it smokes like a hookah?

I found this one all glass hookah from a reputable place but im just not sure if it will hit like a hookah should because the down stem might be too thin. What do you guys think? (of course the bowl would have to be changed)

It will be tricky to make one, one of the reasons the industry doesn't use it. If it was all glass, we wouldn't be taking in as many metals from the metal hookahs that cause heart disease and shit. An all glass hookah would kick ass.

Im not in the hookah business in anyway. This is just something im doing for myself. I will get a bowl from MNH as soon as I find out exactly what kind of glass it is (the blower has to make sure its compatible with his shit).

Borosylicate aka Pyrex, pretty much the industry standard for anything like this.

You should just have him make you a new bowl with a ground glass fitting if you want to go all out.

I would think it would probly be easier to goto a glass shop first and see what they can blow; then use rubber grommets to peice it together. As an entire glass-on-glass hookah would probly set you back a pretty penny.

Like what J3 said, google the roor glass hookah.

I hope i can get this to work. The thing is i called MNH and the guy said he knew it wasnt pyrex but he would have to check with the blower. Then when i got a call back he said that it was made out of pyrex. then i told him what the previous guy told me before and then he was like well ill have to double check with the blower. So I dont know what to believe. I just dont want to spend 30 on an incompatible bowl. (although im sure it is)

yeah that ROOR is amazing although it needs a proper shisha bowl. some guy in NM is selling one on craigslist.

It has to be pyrex, it wouldn't be possible otherwise.

I looked up roor hookahs, and they don't seem to be made for shisha they are for NHT. Good luck with making an all glass hookah. Remember to keep in mind that glass expands very fast so your gromets will have to be flexible enough for the glass to expand without breaking.

If you can find a base like the one you have in the picture, you can find all of the parts you need at your local "tobacco" shop.

Get a glass diffuser that will fit into the top nice and go just about to the bottom of the base. They make massive bowls that will then fit into your diffuser, you can probably find a really nice looking one.

Glass on glass makes the best seal you can get.

For hoses, they also make glass fitting ones that are used with vaporisers, so maybe your guy can put some fittings in the side of your base, then you will have a badass hookah.
