Quick Question Concerning Balls

Recommended Posts

My hookah has three outlets for hoses.  In each of these there is a metal ball which closes off the inactive hose outlets.  These balls get stuck pretty regularly, and I can usually just suck hard or roll them around and that fixes it.  However, for the last month two have been completely unyielding.  How do I get these balls unstuck, and how can I prevent this from happening in the future?

well typically if you suck on the balls too hard they get very sore and dont want to come around for a little while. Rolling them around is never a bad idea though. To answer your real question though, if you take and shake up a bottle of olive oil and then take the cap off and roll the ball in the cap to VERY LIGHTLY cover the ball that should help.

I was relying on the pun for traffic/views.

You'll fit right in here. tongue.gif

Have you tried sticking a pipe cleaner (like the one you use to clean the hookah's downstem/shaft) up the hose port from the bottom? The balls might've just gunked up a bit.

to answer the question...

If they are stuck heat up the ball and where they are stuck with a torch or even a good lighter, the metal on the stem will expand before the ball does, then just use something to tap the ball out. It's worked numerous times berfore.

Mush is right, that does work well. In the future try staying away from 2 and 3 hosers.
