willbb123
One of my friends told me about this and I had to do it. The thing I love about macs is they arent the standard black box computers, but I wanted to make mine stand out more.http://img357.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mbp2bl2.jpgIt is a really simple mod that only took me about 30 min. All I had to do was take the two scews off on the bottom of the screen (pain in the @$ cause you have to do it at an angle and have no room), pop off the back of the screen and then tape the gel to it. The hardest part had to of been the screws, expecially putting them back in, this is what took the most time. Its accually brighter then what it looks like in the picture, I didn't realize that my display had dimmed. Here is the website, icolours.ca the best part is it only costs $5. Shipping was pretty fast, only took 4 days, it came 1st class mail.p.s. Please ignore my dirty closet in the background.
hathcockmemphis
so these are thin enough for your backlight to shine through?

fifthmanstanding
nice. I've been thinking about taking rubbing alcohol to my white iMAC. I have the 24 incher and I thought a clear case would look pretty cool. I've seen a lot of mods where people clear it out and then stick stuff behind the bezel. Jeff_T
Looks awesome Will. May have to try this with my MBP. Btw, what OS you running? Do you know if it is possible to find bootcamp to run on Tiger? Like not having to buy Leopard to get bootcamp? Also, any awesome programs you have that you would recommend to a fellow mac user? Only good stuff I have would be Flip4Mac, Transmission, Quicksilver and Aurora...

I use VMware Fusion, and love it. I dont know if that workes with tiger.I love Transmisssion and use it all the time.I use Camino for my web program, "Camino is an open source web browser developed with a focus on providing the best possible experience for Mac OS X users." I like it cause it uses the mac Keychain for passwords. I've been meaning to download the new firefox though. If you use gmail I highly recomend downloading MailPlane. It makes gmail work seamlessly with mac. Like to add an attachments all you have to do is drag it onto the window and it attaches it. It also intregartes with iPhoto. I aso use Little Snitch, it monitors you outgoing comminications. So if you dont want an application to "phone home" it tells you and allows you to stop itDo you play games on your mac? Im looking for a good game to download/pay.

I would like to play games, that was pretty much my main reason for looking into bootcamp so I can start playing counter strike, day of defeat and team fortress(classic or 2) again. I've checked out some games for mac but never bought/downloaded any yet.

Most places only have the update that goes with 10.5 and from Apple you cannot download it for free anymore because it comes with Leopard and they want you to get that....
