anotether Tangiers Review

Recommended Posts

I dont like tangiers very much at all. The flavor is
really good I got the orange soda and kashmir peach and both had pretty
good flavor. The big problem is it gets harsh really fast and really
bad. After 10 minutes of smoking it I couldnt even smoke anymore. The
tobacco also burns very unevenly due to the big random hunks of tobacco
that cant be broken up anymore. No offense to Tangiers but its just my
$.02

Were you using the same amount of heat you would for other stuff? Remember it easy to burn Tangiers if you use what your would consider "normal" amounts of charcoal.
Its taken me a while, and I had a bad stretch there, but now I've got it down where its working great.
It IS generally a bit rougher to smoke, not a "candy" ma'asell...

I have never heard anything like this before! How do you mean "burns unevenly" due to the large chunks? Why would the size of the pieces matter? If it burned unevenly, that is one thing, but how do you attribut it to the size of the tobacco particles?

Hi Tangiers, I've seen you mention this along with keep your tobacco out for 40 mins before using it, is there anything else we can do with our tobacco to enhance our smoke? Also, do you sell tobacco in 50g sampler packs? I'd quite like to try some but don't want 250g's.

I don't think I said 40 minutes, I think I mentioned several hours. 1. That one we just clarified. Especially when the weather is changing or has just changed.2. Stir tobacco well, before using. Flavor separation may create pockets of flavor in different places. Never discard the juice at the bottom.3. Clean hookah well after each use.4. Separate pipes for different types of flavors, also heads and hoses, if possible. If you use screens, segregate them as well.5. Use appropriate gaskets.6. Use good charcoal.7. Pack your bowl well. Check bowl before heating to make sure draw is good.8. Use room temperature water or slightly warmer in the jar.Thats all I can come up with, off of the top of my head. I do not sell tobacco in 50g packs.  Its a  money loser when all of your tobacco is custom made, on demand, fresh.

Ok Tangiers, thanks for the list, I appreciate it! Do you think its a big problem if parts can't be separated for different types of flavours? I guess all it means if you can't is that you get the aftertaste from the last flavour(s)?Are there any of your flavours that you personally favour over the others? I'm all for a nice flavourful and thick shisha. I've read the reviews but I'm interested to know what you personally prefer. :)

a small note from this corner of the forum's memebers regarding harshness -

try packing the bowl carefully, as to not fill it flush with the top of
the bowl (especially if it burns easily, as i've read
here..)...charcoal that actually touches what's inside will definately
make anything harsh.

Monil: Nothing is a problem per se...the performance of your smoking is based on what lengths you go to. I find that separate hoses make the biggest difference. If you remember my segregation system for pipes, at my lounge I have 12 types of pipes plus 4 more pipes that are "border" pipes. I have the full compliment of 14 different types of hoses. Hoses are far harder to wash, so they will always be the confounding factor in the system. I believe the percentages I estimated for transient flavor are as such:Hose 55%Pipe Shank 35%Head 10%Personally prefer? Wow. Someone actually cares about Eric, not Tangiers. Snff.Time has passed quite a bit since I smoked other brands. Its been so long since I smoked another brand, Jeez! Sultan has been in business longer than I've been not smoking other brands. I've only tried Sultan once.Nahkla:Double apple, melon, cola Bahraini:AppleAl Waha:five star, apricotAbu Hitham:StrawberryMore recent stuff I've tried and didn't like:Layalina:GrapeFakher:Strawberry, PlumI found the Layalina grape mellow, but with an exceedingly pedantic flavor. Like a kid banging the same key on a piano and saying he was playing the piano.I found both of the Fakher flavors lacking in aroma and their flavors were harsh. Both flavors were overly oily in texture, but not flavor. The strawberry reeked of alpha-hydroxyvanillin flavor. Oddly, they made me cough. The plum flavor made me imagine chewing on plum leaves or of plums that were barely the size of ping-pong balls and hard as a rock. The flavor left much to be desired. Seandoo, I'm not sure I agree with your assessment regarding packing flush to the top of the bowl. I do all the time, in fact slightly bulging. Whereas I'm smoking Tangiers, and I assume you aren't, that may be a difference...but I have, as I mentioned up there, experimented with other stuff and packed a bowl the same way I normally would and noticed no strange effects.
