yashman19
Whats wrong with soap? Do you not use soap to clean dirty dishes? It helps to break up gunk inside the downstem. Just make sure you rinse well and you're golden.

hookahphxsmoker
The 420 cleaner does work well though, but I'll tell you how to make it for much cheaper. Take 70% or 91% isopropyl alcohol and add a large amount of basic table salt as an aggitator. Maybe a little orange clean too, for the citrus cleaning power. Now plug one end of your stem with a paper towel or cork and add the solution. Shake the hell out of it for 5 minutes or so, then use a nice brush to get the rest of the gunk out. Run hot water through it, and I give you my guarantee your pipe will be nice and clean.
Sonthert
residue...residue. Your running a vaporized, extremely facile solvent across a residue...whats in that residue? what does the residue do when it mixes with PG or glycerine?
dizzing
i use a wire rifle cleaning brush and water only, no soap or any sort of solvents. the mixture of 420 and the residue, however, is moot, because it dissolves everything and rinses out completely clean. i have used both methods, and both yield a shiny brand new-looking stem. actually, the formula 420 i used was the "all natural kind" so actually, that may be the only safe way to do it. still, as long as you get everything rinsed completely clean you should be fine. Sonthert
Some cleaners are rated for use in the food industry, sticking to those would be good, like Simple Green is, isn't it?
