In Search Of Top Quality Hookah

Recommended Posts

Hello my friends.

I have been smoking the hookah for about two years now. I have two Mya's, and a Social Smoke. All of them are seriously low quality pieces of crap, and I have had enough.

I am certainly a serious smoker now, and I want to invest in a smoking machine which will last years and provide with the highest quality materials.

Some info on me;
I only smoke Tangiers
I only use a phunnel
I use Nammor Hoses
I only use single hosed hookah's

So, you might gather that the only important parts of this requested hookah to be meaningful, would be the stem and jar.

26" to 36". Any size is fine. I am just looking for the highest quality craftsmanship and materials.

Price is not really that important, as long as it is not outrageous.

I thank all of you for your amazing community and support.

KM FTW!!!. gothookahs.com has about 5 or 6 models available right now. Plus they're running a sale for 15% off using code KM0707. Also you can check out hookahcompany.com(disc. code:hookahforum) and thehookah.com(disc. code:hookahforum08)

I second that. I'll also recommend hookahcompany.com.

KM is the bomb, I just got the Blue triple pear from thehookah.com, That thing is a beast, it is sooooo good. I ditched the standard KM base and am using a large Bohemian base I had from a previous pipe. It looks so sweet!! but yeah KM are the best, their new ice bucket ones look really nice too.

I don't know from experience but it seems like everyone is in love with KMs for their top notch craftsmanship, even though they look slightly cheaper than myas.

Well in terms of an Egyptian sytle of pipe, KM or MZ is the top of the line. The only reason i could see that you would say they look cheaper than Mya's is that KMs are handmade and Myas are machine made. Trust me thought Kms outweigh myas by a ton. They are heavy sturdy and durable. I would recomend hookahcompany, thehookah, or gothookahs to buy from.

meh
mya is machine made-fuckem
Khalil Mamoun is hand made with visible welds and an inconsisntent product-fuckem
Magdy zidan is handmade with an eye on craftsmanship, and a little something called quality control-don't fuckem
also, MZ's are typically around 40 dollars less than a KM, that speaks volumes in my book
KM you are paying for the name, kinda like a pair of nike
MZyou pay for the craftsmanship, kinda like dickies.

yeah, i have a hafa, i don't care much for it. it's okay, but i don't see what all the hype is about, perhaps i never will.
for like i said, 40 dollars less my MZ nefertiti works just as well, and looks nicer. Edited by ilikemyusername

You should come and have a smoke with me one day. You will never say what you said about KMs ever again.

Trust me.

I suggest a KM. Or Good Syrian.

Honestly no hookah will be bad if you can get your heat management down with the shisha and coals you use. I can easily get all the smoke I want outta my Km's, my MZ's, or any of my friends hookahs which run from no namers to big and small Mya's as long as I've got my small phunnel some al waha and exoticas. Personally though i prefer the effortless pull of the wider stem of my KM Mash'al and it's excellent purging abilites compared to what else is on the market. Just get whatever you want and learn how to make it smoke like crazy, it'll come with time and practice.

You see..when I don't recommend a MYA, it does not mean that I hate it. It's just not my cup of tea when it comes to Hookahs, so I don't mention it at all.

Liking hookahs is similar to liking cars, or anything that you like over something else.

You choose to like a certain car more than another, and everyone has their favorite things/brands [Cars, music, movie genres...ect]

My favorite car [to my current budget] is a STi
My favorite music is Trance
My favorite movie genre is Drama and Action
My favorite Hookah is a KM

Simple as that.

I would really like to stress that I do know how to smoke correctly and successfully.

My issue is the quality of the components. Particularly the stem.

Both of my Mya stems are hollow cavernous sharp taste/smell collecting grossholes. I want a solid brass (or comparable) pipe which is 100% easier to clean, and potentially wider. My Mya stems both have small choke-points which restrict airflow.

A purge that actually cleans the whole chamber, instead up just the top fifth would also be nice.

First, what kind of pipe do you prefer aside from single hoses? Social Smoke carried some quality solid brass Syrians up until several months ago, and they still have some well-made Egyptian Magdy Zidans on hand. The quality and durability of a Mya is hard to beat as far as chinese brands are concerned due to their solid brass cast stems and the fact that Mya also specializes in glass/crystal along with hookahs.

Second, if you're in Vancouver, Wa. let me know if you're down for a smoke sometime. It seems like nobody around here knows what Tangiers is.

edit....

Your best bet is to surf the online vendors looking for solid brass Syrians. Edited by Ralleac

If that's the case then and you wanna get away from the Myas then MZ and KM are your best bet. No promisies on solid brass as MZ's don't have it and KM seems to be going in a different direction but either way both pipe are amazing. I've only had my KM's for a few months so i can't speak long term on them, but my very first MZ last 2 years before I made the call to retire it(and I retired it with tons of life left in it too).
