New Hookah Store Tips!

Recommended Posts

hey there,

in the process of creating a new hookah website store. Atm im creating a coming soon page. This will include a suggestions box, email list box, contact us, and a loctaion selector.

From your experiences both as store owners and consumers, what else should i include with the coming soon page?

any tips on making it a great launch. Also if your worried ill be competing with any of you, to reassure you i actually wont be in the american market .

thank you

The greatest thing would be an exact date on which it will open up.

A mission statement and your goal for the hookah community is good too.

Also, as an upcoming vendor, read the vendor rules and get sorted out with a Mod. Best of luck!

Here are a few things I recomend for your store in general:
1. Be as a "web 2.0" as possible. I know this seems generic but try and be as open with your customers as possible. Include open reiews on everything, include links of things the customer might like based on things they've previously ordered. Stay away from mailing lists! Have an RSS feed for new items and on sale item. Also, blogs from vendors(that are really about yourself and your business) are usually good ways for people to interact.
2. Support hookah forum!

Best piece of advice I can give you is to practice good business ethics. Don't pull a Neal and yell at customers. Carry all the popular brands and just be polite to your customers.

Nah, I don't want free shit. I want cheap shit! In all seriousness. If you want to succeed, you'll have to know your market and know your competitors. Know what the people want and stay ahead of the curve.

lol im down for that =D

Also, beating the price of competition wil lalways get you more business. Try to carry as much as you can from each given brand and have the best prices. Everyone will buy from you. I know I would.

What I have learned from my dads business is that people are willing to pay a little extra for great service. If you sell cheap but have bad service you will not go as far as great service with a little higher price tag. People will forget that they paid an extra $5 , but they will never forget the service.

+1 As long as the selection is there and your customer service is better then your competitors you will earn alot of peoples business. I know everyone here on the forum hates having to deal with shit service and would gladly pay a couple extra dollars to not have to deal with a neal.

H-S is a good example of this. I ordered a hookah and it didn't come with tongs. I let them know about the situation, they simply gave me store credit, about $5 worth.
