Fired Up My First Tangiers In A Phunnel Last Night

Recommended Posts

Acclimated the K-Peach for about 8 hrs. Packed according to Snoopy's specs. Dropped two coconaras on top, and waited about 3 minutes before taking a puff.
Damn.
DAMN.
DAAAAAAMMMMNNNNN!!!!!!!
Amazingly aromatic. Pantloads o' smoke, with the right heat. Smooth as a newborn's ass. Used a 30" Egyptian, Nammor hose, ice water in base. Zero harshness. It may have been the beer I was downing, flavour was a bit lacking around the 1 hour mark, but still had about 1/3 of the stuff left unburned in the bottom of the bowl after 2 straight hours. Very little buzz, I was expecting to feel like a human opium den, but was rock solid after the session. A question - can I put the amount left unburned back into the Tupperware container with the rest, or should I toss it? It still smelled fine.
Thanks, folks,
Smokey

If you want to save it, try picking out the burnt tobacco, or you could stir the bowl up and set aside the tobacco and use it next time. I don't recommend mixing it back in with the rest.

yeah Tangiers is great as soon as I get home tonight its Horchata time

Just placed another order with MNH.
Another small phunnel
A Super Chief small
3 more boxes coconaras
Yet more Tangiers ( horchata, Indago flower, guava )
As I like Romman Rose, I'm looking forward to tasting the Indago. Whole house is gonna smell like a New Orleans cat house. All I need now is some Zeppelin on the turntable and a couple blacklight posters on the wall and ceiling.
Keep on truckin',

If you enjoyed the Romman Rose, you'd love the AF Rose.

Here's hoping the flavor kicks up. I am making my second attempt at tangiers tomorrow. The first was awesome but a little weak.

Did you follow all the Tangiers tutorials and did you acclimate?

Smokeytheclown is one satisfied man

good to hear that it was a success.

Okay, second bowl, same two hour duration. I don't think I'm letting the coconaras come to their full potential on the stove, gonna give 'em about 4 minutes to get up to speed. Went through 4 of them this go round. Smoke was smoother with less coal. I don't take very big pulls on the hose. Can't wait to see how the Superchief does with the AF Cappuccino. God, I hope this doesn't turn into a habit...

...NAAAAHHH.
Any word on the Indago flower taste? I may have to look into the AF rose, Codename...

Yup. Iy had been acclimating for about 6 or 7 hours at that point. I live in Salem Ma and our weather is screwey. Recently the humidity has been ridiculous. Seems like my humidor is keeping more out than in now a days. It seems to be throwing off the tangiers.

I have Lucid Cocoa, which supposedly needs no acclimation and it smelled like nothing but molasses when it arrived here. That has since changed and I am looking forward to trying it again.
