So, I'm interested in getting a hookah, no no that won't do, I'm dead set on getting a hookah. I'm picking one up at my local tobacco shop next week. Yeah, I'm super excited. But I have a question, and I wonder if anyone here has ever done this. I really enjoy my Djarum cloves...more than just about anything, and I was wondering if there was a clove blend, or any way to make a clove blend to smoke through my new hookah. I don't want any extra flavorings really, though later on I'm sure I will, but for now I just want to smoke cloves through my hookah.

Can it/has it been done?

I don't want a cloves flavor, I want to smoke the actual clove through the hookah.
How would I go about doing that?

I guess you'd mix the cloves in with the shisha, but I can't even begin to think of a flavor that you'd mix it with. Maybe a mint? Why do you want to smoke actual cloves and not clove flavor?

it can be done.
be sure to put some shisha in the bowl with the cloves so that it'll smoke right. i'd put a layer of shisha, then a layer of cloves, then another layer of shisha. this is so that you don't burn the dry ingredients.

if you don't want to smoke regular hookah tobacco, Soex makes a non-tobacco shisha that is pretty good if you don't want to smoke regular tobacco. it's not nearly as good as tobacco, though. it's actually just sugar cane and, like, honey and stuff.

and everyone, please, let's not make this a debate on whether soex sucks or not. we all know that it doesn't compare to tobacco.

but if you don't want to smoke tobacco, it's a good way to go.

like Coda said, Tangiers makes a clove flavored tobacco. i haven't tried it yet, but i'm going to give it a try some time.

Tangiers will give you that same buzz and then some.

i didn't think there was really a difference. i thought that cloves don't give a buzz. that the tobacco that's mixed in with the cloves in a clove cigarette is what gives the buzz.

does anyone think that tombak would be a good idea mixed with cloves?

yeah, dude. you'll have to take frequent breaks. you'll be on your ass! after a while of smoking it, it won't affect you as much, but still awesome. i've been smoking tangiers for a while and it still gives me a buzz every time.

i didn't think there was really a difference. i thought that cloves don't give a buzz. that the tobacco that's mixed in with the cloves in a clove cigarette is what gives the buzz.

Yeah, the clove is full of a general anesthetic that numbs your body along with the nicotine in the tobacco thats speeds you mind and gives you a little head buzz, thats why it's such a cool buzz, at least, to me it is.

yeah, I searched a little for bulk cloves, and I thikn cutting open cigarettes as pathetic as it may be...is the only solution.

yeah. pretty much. i've never heard about doing that, so when you get it down, start a thread about it.

try it with both a washed tobacco and with a strong one like Tangiers. if you want just a clove buzz and no tobacco buzz, then use a washed tobacco, if you want both, use unwashed. (tangiers is unwashed)

you know i just thought of something: maybe the wetter the tobacco, the better. i've noticed that with like Potion tobacco, it has way too much juices in it, maybe the clove can soak up some of that liquid. iono.

Cloves are a common spice, they can be bought whole or ground at most normal grocery stores and if not there then a specialty grocery store such as Whole Foods.

Well I dunno if this helps but someone posted a few months ago...maybe canon..a hookah that doesnt use a bowl but you put a cig at the top and light it and then smoke..

that's funny. lol. i wouldn't consider it a hookah because it burns the tobacco instead of vaporizing it. but still kinda cool. haha
