Freemasonry

Recommended Posts

Freemasonry is a subject which people have some widely varying opinions on. I would like to find out, what you think about this subject. Are there any freemasons here? Would anyone like to learn more about Freemasonry?

We could tell you. But of course we would have to kill you if we did.

Are you really a Mason, JD? I can't say I know a whole lot about the Freemasons, but I'd say I know a little bit more than the average bear. One of my professors is a New Age'r and conspiracy theorist. I'd draw masonic symbols on the chalkboards before the building closed, so that when he got to his office he'd see the symbols and freak out. He really didn't like the Cryptic Mason symbol. Ahh... good times.

hi to all
im a freemason, if you want to be one, you only have to ask to one mason hwo knows you, and he will tell you if you could be, its so easy like that, i live in Mexico, but in States its more easy than here, theres nothing hidden or secret about masonery, its a philosophical school and filantropic too, its where you learn how to be a better person for yourself, your comunity and your country

if you want to learn about masonery history just look for it at google, or your nearest public library

im sorry for my bad english im traslating from spanish

I used to read about esoteric philosophies and pseudo-religions - sorry to associate those with Freemasons, but they often are in the literature.

The only thing I can remember these days is that it is a sin to be a Mason if you're Catholic...true.

The 1917 Code of Canon Law stated: Can 2335: Affiliation With Masonic or Similar Societies. Those who join a Masonic sect or other societies of the same sort, which plot against the Church or against legitimate civil authority, incur ipso facto an excommunication simply reserved to the Holy See. (c. 2335). [p. 924.] Simply Reserved to the Holy See (4).

In 1983, that was rewritten: Can. 1374. A person who joins an association which plots against the Church is to be punished with a just penalty; one who promotes or takes office in such an association is to be punished with an interdict.

This revision gave rise to confusion, to which the Church responded with Quaesitum est that same year. It reconfirmed the older, more explicit theaching, that Church teaching and the ways of Freemasonry (and similar societied) cannot be reconciled.

Just thought I'd bust down on a bit of Church/Canon history to add to the discussion.

I'm personally very interested in becoming a mason, have been for years since I started doing research into it. I support and follow a lot of their ideals.

I noticed a free mason ring on a classmate of mine and talked to him a little bit, but beyond him I don't know anyone who could write me a reference to allow me to join.

Anyone on here though, feel free to shoot me a PM wink.gif

There are other various organizations I have interest in as well, but they probably shouldn't be mentioned on here with their level of secrecy.

What I know of it is that its a Christian organization

It's actually a secular organization that belongs to no religious faith but instead shows tolerance for all faiths

Well, I would have liked to have joined very much but I am an atheist. It is my understanding that you have to believe in some form of higher power and I don't.

There is probably a modicum of truth in your statement brownman. It's the old-boy network at best and something quite different at worst.

However I highly doubt your 'grass-roots' Freemason has access to anything interesting. Mostly it's about dressing up nice, having dinner parties and knowing other's from your local community.

U.S. President George W. Bush has given Israel an "amber light" to begin preparations for a military attack on Iran, a Pentagon official told The Sunday Times this week.

"Amber means get on with your preparations, stand by for immediate attack and tell us when you're ready," the official said.

The official told the Times that Bush informed the Israeli government he would back an Israeli plan to strike Iran's main nuclear sites with long-range aerial weapons if diplomatic talks over Tehran's contentious atomic program broke down.

Bush's voice of support comes despite U.S. military officials' opposition to the risks of an aerial strike on Iran, the official told The Times. However, the U.S. would not deploy American forces for such a strike nor would Israel be able to depend on U.S. military bases in Iraq for logistical support, the official said.

And as you said yes they do sit around and have nice dinner parties.

As did the Muslim hierarchy during the crusades often eating and puking in their castles as others suffered, a certain crown was also the same way.

And another paradox is what did the soviet-union and the u.s do in their cold war proxy wars? often sitting around at nice banquets planning there next game of chess or catching up on what they had done.

None of the above directly says all is lost either, but should Obama or Mccain live, we should all expect them to live by their commitments, and not be evil again.

In fact why don't you google around past u.s presidents and freemasonry theirs alot of information should you choose to seek it and use your will power.

Otherwise you may too become gready in nature and just be ill as i like to see it.

It also doesnt mean that a billion asians are going to cross over and rush to destroy Israel as the evangelicals put it.

Look up the updates on the INdia-u.S nuclear pact, then look up the recent sale of upgrades and retrofits to pakistan's army.

You can also find articles stating musharraf fears that this will start an arms war in the area (he kind of warns it) and well it would wouldn't it?

Afterall a nuclear war in asia between any of those 3 would be just what we need right now to live?

Seems we need to look to the garden of eden and maybe just go green a tad so we can have all the energy we require for society albeit slowly but it sure would cost a hell of a lot less.

meaning it would COST us alot less, as in myself who is ripe for military age as i fit the criteria quite nicely.

And the above three didn't mean U.S pakistan and India.

If you look up the three gorges damn its a marvel of engineering able to store alot of water and generate hydroelectricity.

However if it were to be blown up by anyone it would probably swallow most of india in water.

And karma from that kind of war while we sit on the sidelines and collect monies from both parties is surely not to come back on us?
