Codename067
Never tried this selected brand, but it looks like it will be close to what you intended on buying.

Spotless
Here is what the vendor had to say."We used to carry the Canary colas and recently switched over to the current brand which comes from the same factory. There is no difference in quality, just different packagin"(gotta love typos, but i guess thats that)
Jeff_T
They are def. a different shape than the canarys. Try them out, but if they are not the quality you were expecting you could try returning on the basis that you didn't get what you thought you were getting. Not sure if that would work. Also, does this box say made in Japan?
OC4111
Those are the japs they sell in middle eastern market by where I live. They're pretty good. I used them until I started using coco naras. I could've sworn I saw them in the background of a pic from mdl when he was showing us some tangiers lucid before it came out. I never had actual canary goldens but these are pretty good. Spotless
I just got an email from the vendor and I must say I am shocked at their willingness to solve this problem. I highly recommend thehookah.com service. Here is the email in which I got regarding the missing rows."Dear JosephThank you for the reply. There are supposed to be 24 pieces of 4 in a box. We usually have one box opened because we sell them by the stick to our walk-in customers. That box must have slipped into your package instead of a new one accidentally. We do have a couple of employees in training in our packaging department and I am sure one of them made an honest mistake. We will be sending you a brand new box of coals as a courtesy for your inconvenience. You can keep the old box of coals as well.I also want to reassure you that those are real Japanese charcoals which are made in Japan very similar if not the same as the Canary Golden coals. The Chinese made Japanese style coals do say Made in China on the box and look and feel way different. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. You new coals will ship tomorrow. We will enter a second tracking number in your account. We will also be updating our image to reflect the new coals in order to avoid further confusion.Thank you for your understanding."Woah, brand new box! I was just going to ask that if they werent going to give me the missing ones then they just made sure to fix the packaging problem so it doesnt happen to others. mushrat
The fact that there are 4 piece per stick instead of 3 also indecates good Jap. coals accordning to eric. He says stay away from the 3 piece sticks.
Scoop
i used those a long time ago and they were very good, however when i went to get more and compared to the golden canary, they were substantially worse. (this was a month ago)they lasted half the time and did not get as hot.
MechAnt
Like scoop said, these were once the preferred coals of Eric himself. They are lighter and crappier now. Still a bit better than the knock offs on the market but not as consistent or good as the Canarys
