Strange Smoke Shop...

Recommended Posts

So I went to a smoke shop to pick up some 3ks in a pinch. I called ahead to see what kind of coals the guy carried and (mind you this is after 5 frustrating as hell calls to other shops- what kind of hookah coals do you carry? "y'know, the round black kind" or "no, we carry shisha". Lost in translation?) he says "Only the best!"

I ask "well what brand, three kings or..."

"yes! I use them myself they are best!" he interupts ,laughing, and tells me the price which was decent enough.

So I went after running some errands eager to see what shisha this fellow lover of hookahs carries and I pull up to see a huge sign for computer maintenence. WTF? So i walk in and he's got computers and parts scattered EVERYWHERE and a bunch of cigs behind the counter, two 250s of "SKYZZZ" shisha, again WTF?, and a single half empty box of 3k coals. It was like walking into a scene from "Judge Dredd Visits The Suburbs". There was an attractive young lass so I guess that makes up for it a little, but I was expecting sooo much more.

Any other stories of wierd or lame smoke shops? Edited by giant ninja robot

i went into a gas station the other day and saw a bunch of pumpkin hookah in a display case, i walked over and looked around to see if they had shisha or coals, they had tons of cigars and other stuff so i just go up and ask the girl at the counter "i see you guys have hookahs, do you have hookah coals?" and shes like, what are hookah coals? so im like, well if you smoke tobacco out of a hookah you need to use coals otherwise it tastes like shit. and shes like no you dont, you could use grill charcoal if you want? so i tell her "nevermind ill just take these gatorades and be on my way" and then she says "i dont know what youre talking about ive never heard of that or used when when i smoke tobacco out of it" i just shook my head and walked away. she laughed at me like i was making up some stupid story and she probably went to her friends like "OMGZ some kid said you use charcoal to smoke hookah!!'

The only thing strange I have run across is the Flea Markets in FL. There were a couple of booths selling pumpkin Hookahs and other smaller sized Hookah for toooooooo much money. Other then that, I have not run across what you have described.

I went into this shop here that was like a novelty shop not expecting that they would sell nice hookahs or shisha or anything like that but low and behold, they did. This was beside the arabic and japanese porno magazines and right after the suit of armor. He had a humidor in the front of the store right beside a bunch of "Stud Pills" and other sorts of novelty items (fart bombs, weird gadgets, etc.). The shisha he sold was mostly Starbuzz and some Tonic. He had like 2 flavors of Al Waha and some 50g packs of Cleopatra. There were also a bunch of assorted pipes not designed for tobacco smoking. But he did sell KMs, Myas and some other quality pipes. I need to go back there and look at those KMs and Myas again to do a quick comparision price-wise to other places.

Well first off about 10-15 min down the road from me there's a gas station that sells pumpkin hookahs, flashing cubes, and pharaohs tobacco......but no coals either lol, I don't get it.

The other is where I got my KM. It's a little Jerusalem Bakery/Grocery in a strip mall, so it's not very large at all. But I (unknowingly) got a KM from them last summer. Now they sell Nakhla, Al Fahker, 3kings, and starlight coals. Along with a few assorted egyptian bowls. You'd never expect them to be carrying anything like that at such great prices from the looks from outside.
