bjelder
So lately I've been having this problem with both lucid and AF. I always burn the top layer of shisha so my sessions only last about 45 mins, then it just tastes nasty.Any ideas??? it sucks
hookah hippie
perhaps you should use less or break up the tobacco more so the heat can get to the tobacco on the bottom
MNH
I would think less tobacco...and rotate charcoals.

mattarios2
QUOTE (Codename067 @ Jul 5 2008, 09:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>2 Words: Heat ManagementSo how often do you move your coals? Every 2 min or so?
Anxiety
mmm imo the top layer of a funnel bowl always burns for me, but it never effects the taste. it hought it was normal for the top layer of burning b/c the way the funnel works is it takes air the the bottom which stays fresh but hot? if your getting a burnt tast i'd say roate your coals every 15 mins or so, or use less coals. And I rotate prob every 10 min or so, and after about an hour in a phunnel it tastes like shit no matter how much coal I remove. But this is with tangiers and it is so overpacked i feel it isn't even possible for the bottom to burn before the top burns b/c the top sits on the foil. pingywon
This has been happening to me also lately - I blame it on not knowing these VIVI coals as well as the others I normally use.....cant wait for that MNH package ..as usual
pinky
Same problem for me. I figured out the right packing with Tangiers. I have a pleasent smoke with the first set of coals. I use 3 pieces of coconut charcoal that are a little smaller than coconaras. But if I add a second set of coals I have a less fruity taste, more smokey taste. Almost like pipe tobacco. Any advises?
