Snoopy1966
OK so Bulldog and I swapped coals this week, but Snoopy was late in sending the Coconaras to him though, but he should get them this week. I sent them out priority so he will get them faster I hope. Now for a little comparison. No pics right now. I think we all know what the Coconars and the coconut coals look like from HC.Coconarashttps://www.coco-nara.us/products.aspxCoconut coals from HChttp://www.hookahcompany.com/coconut_hooka...l_1121_prd1.htmThe coals from HC light much faster and have the same qualities of the Coconaras. No taste of anything when you smoke or light them, just your normal smell of a coconut coal when lighting. Time the last for coals is the same, roughly an hour 10 minutes no windcover. I got my last set of coals last night to go for 1 hour and 25 with the windcover. I get the same time from the Coconaras. I was a little worried about the coals from HC at first because each stick has 4 coals and you need to break them apart. They break apart real easy and a Coconaras you need a jack hammer to split in half. The coals from HC are very sturdy when lit. I think also I get even a better taste of the tobacco. Both are great for this quality in a coal. The coals from HC have perfect heat for Tangiers as do the Coconaras. I am using 2 of them on my Jet Glass Funnel. The plus factors now. You get more coals for less money from HC . The ones from HC light faster and as I said you get more for less. I see these coals to be my new coal to use. The coals from HC ash a little different from the cocos. The cocos have more of a grainy ash. The ash from the ones from HC remind me of Exotica ash but finer. Both ash very little which is another great quality of the coconut coals. The winner for me are the coals from HC. I love the Coconaras very much, but if I can get the same quality of coal for less money, why not!! I will put up some pics here soon of both coals before lit and after. I hope this helps some. If there any questions fire away!! Thanks for your time to read my boring post

Kalutika
That's awesome. I have been thinking about trying those coconut coals for a long time but never wanted to take the risk so to speak. Low budget and all. this really encourages me to try them out and will save me more money than trying out coconara or exotica. Still have not tried either. indian_villager
Are these the same coals?
indian_villager
Nvm I just compared the pics to the one from HC. I guess these are the ones Neal is selling......they suck ass. When heating up they stink up the entire place and they did impart a taste that was noticable......Dont get the coco coals from neal. I'm currently loving the belgian Naturals that I got from snoopy so I'm in no need of coal anytime soon. But maybe once I run out I'll hit up thehookah.com for coal and a washable km hose! indian_villager
Thats what I thought too but if you look at the closely the border design is completely different and Al Awa'el wasn't written on the face of the one at HC. Also the one at hc has a picture of a grill where mine has a pic of a flame.
Kalutika
Ya those are definitely something else.
Snoopy1966
I would say they are different also. The box and writing are all different. The coals that Bulldog sent me have very little odor when lighting. Just the normal coconut coal smell

Snoopy1966
I must say this last stick I just now used did not smell to good when they lit and I can taste something, the coals are really fragile and they broke into little pieces when I ashed them...having second thoughts now. indian_villager
That was another problem with the coals from neal. Once in a while when ashing they would break apart.
OC4111
hmmm, I might just go ahead and stick with cocos since H-S sells them in the tangier package. plus it would only take one to ship for me.
