Coalmageddon Pt. 2

Now we just need a "Coconaras vs. Coconut Coals from HC vs. Cocobrincos"

Too hard shisha-world doesn't ship to US, because I've always been curious of how the Coconaras are compared to Cocobrincos. Anyone from europe who's tried both?

Yea, those recycled COCONUT HUSK coals are great. You don't actually need to get those speciallge packaged one for HOOKAH. Maybe its quick light, I don't know.

But the COVENTIONAL BBQ Coconut Husk Coals are great. Don't worry, its pure natural coal, nothing which is chemically enhanced to it for quick lighting, don't know about the one you're using though. I bought like for 2KG for about Malaysian Ringgit 5. Which is USD$ 2 I guess. Muahahahaah!! Good for BUSINESS.

i got a box of the HC Coconut Coals from Neal about 2 months ago and they aren't good coals. As others have mentioned they smell horrid when I heat them with the coal burner and I have gotten an aftertaste when smoking using them.

CocoNara's are definitely my coal of choice. I recommend CocoNara's to everyone, they might cost a little bit more but they are worth it.

sounds like you got a bad batch i didnt have any problems with the box i tried they were pretty damn good for the price but coco's do last longer

Haha, I've been around. There are a few reason that have disinclined me from posting like I used to, but the easy answer is that HookahForum has always been an instrument of procrastination for me, and since I've been out of school there hasn't been anything to procrastinate from.

Currently smoking: Mya Bambino, Nammor hose, grapefruit juice filter with ice cubes, Coco Nara coals, Bambino bowl ~ bottom layer: Nahkla sweet melon for a robust sweetness from dryish baccy to allow superb airflow, middle layer: Layalina vanilla for a twist, top layer: Al Fakher banana because I'm trying to free up its container for my new arrivals.

since everyones switching to cocos, ship me your exoticas you will be giving up lol

def a +1 I've been waiting to get some cash to get some exoticas and hopefully try out coconaras and the hc coals eventually. But if anyone has some exoticas to get rid of I'll take the 2nd box since nic has dibs on the first lol

great review bulldog, this is the kind of thing I like to see about coals so I can decide what others pros/cons are before I buy them.

Coconaras > HC natural coals.

HC coals light faster, however I keep getting a disgusting taste that damn near ruins the experience, but that's on the small bowls. Larger bowls they work well, but they don't last as long. Just my two cents.

Make damn sure they are fully lit. That's about the only advice I can give you. I dont really catch any taste from them unless I'm putting them on an old bowl (like from the day before).

The next time I get coals though, I'm going back to Exoticas. Now that all the issues are worked out, there's no reason not to go back. They were good coals then, and they sure sound as good, if not better now, so, that's my next coal purchase.

I bought 2 boxes of HC coals, figured I should give them a try. At the time of order HS didnt have the baccy I wanted but HC did, so I decided to go with them and needed coals. So i got the HC coals.

Lately I must say I have been getting annoyed with the cocos going out. Never had the issue until recently, happening kind of often now. And on the 2nd round of coals i get coal taste which has been pissing me off, and I do carefully remove the coals when ashing. After my bowls are done I never see any ash on them or anything.

Figured reviews here show they are good enough for an enjoyable session so figured i'd give them a try.

Do you guys use 2 or 3 HC coals for tangiers? I noticed people said they burn hotter, is that right?

Thanks guys.

you have to keep smoking to keep coconaras going

and dont move them!

i never move my coals once i put them on! a little ash on top of burnt shisha wont hurt anything

as long as the hc coals don't impart taste or smell horrible, I will buy either one, if I buy from HS i will get coco if i buy HC i will go hc coals, depending on what place has what I need. This time HC had what i needed so I went with the HC coals. Unless i really really like the HC coals, then I'll always get those.

So 2 or 3 HC coals for tangiers?!

probably 2 on a small 3 on a med i would think (never used them and i only have a small phunnel)

well do you use 2 cocos for your tangiers on a small phunnel? B/c I use 3 cocos.

I figured maybe since the HC supposidly give off more heat, I may only need to use 2. If I only need two then HC wins me over b/c you get 120/2 coals = 60 hookahs sessions worth for 10 bucks.

Coco 84/3 = 28 sessions for 15 bucks.

5 bucks less for more than double the sessions.

But we will see, hopefully snoopy or someone else chimes in on tangiers with HC coals, imma just pm him I think.
