I’m going to Cairo

Hi everyone

Firstly, can I say this is a great board and I already learnt a real
lot  (e.g. I just found out that my halal supermarket in Bradford
UK is selling fake al-fakher!)

Anyway, I'm off to Cairo in 3 weeks and I am planning to buy my first
shisha there (I've only been smoking for a month).  Does anyone
here know a good place in cairo to check out for buying a really good
shisha pipe and the likely price.  And also, anywhere there that
sells really good shisha tobacco (and the price out there)?

Finally, where do UK boarders recommend to buy their shisha tobacco from - UK stores or online (presumably from the USA?).

There is a huge market-place in Cairo called the 'Khan Khalili Bazaar'. Now at the front there would be mostly tourist stuff and many shishas but I don't think these are really good quality. If you go all the way into the market you'll find shops which are more expensive (still dead cheap compared to our standards!). Here they should let you choose out individual parts and construct your own shisha- I think most of these better shops have some really good steel hookahs.You should also be able to get more fresh and higher quality nakhla tobacco there

You can try the shisha you want to buy in the market [img]http://www.hookahforum.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif[/img] and watch out the price. They may ask you a much bigger price than it should be  Hookahs and ma'assel are really cheap in Egypt
