Steinway st in Queens is best, $5 a head.

Next, I'd say hookah cafe on 60th in between 1st and 2nd. They make their own tobacco, the canteloupe is lovely.

Last, Horus on lower east side (Ave B and 6th I think). A bit pricier,
the smoke isnt as good, but the crowd is great. Great music, beautiful
girls, great atmosphere.

I usually go to Luxor on Macdougal in the village... $12 a pipe, no minimum except on weekends when it's $10 a person.. yes, yes now that I own a hookah myself I know it's pricey, but they have the best lemonade in NYC not to mention some really nice morrocan tea.  If you get unlucky, you can get stuck in some of their REALLY uncomfortable booths, but you know, whatever Also there is Le Souk in alphabetcity, though I havent been there in so long, I dont even know if they still do shishaKarma on 1st Ave and...I'd estimate 4th street on the west side of the street.  About the same prices as Luxor.  It turns into a real meat market on weekends though.Cafe Cairo on 2nd and Ludlow...$10 a pipe no minimum... though I think now it's been closed and replaced by another hookah bar that I've never been to.
