QUALITY of junior vs. fatotota MINI’S

Recommended Posts

Well...I'm a fan of Socialsmoke, but the Fatota looks like a nice little machine.
I did some searching around and couldn't really find anything bad said about hookahkings as a vendor and I've never smoked out of either one....so I'd say go with the one you'd want to have around most.

hmm...quality wise? (now that i reread the topic title)
The Junior looks like a sultan(?), Chinese mass produced perhaps? If thats what it is a lot of people around the forum have spoken well of them for what they are.
The fatota looks like it might actually be of middle eastern manufacture and looks more "traditional." Looks a little more "solid" as well....
2 more cents....almost up to a nickel.

I have an example of a "fatota " hookah........
Those are really just an ornamental version of a hookah...... usually with lower standards. Very poor soldering (leaks badly)... The vase is very small and easily tips the whole rig over.
The one Chinese version at Social will actually serve as a smoking device.

I have the Junior Modern from Social Smoke, and I can say it is a great little hookah, and very well made.  I have been using it quite a bit the last few weeks, as it is the only hookah I didn't pack up while moving (because of it's size).  After beating the crap out of it for a month or more here, I really only have a couple of complaints.  The ash tray, after being put on and taken off many times, does not sit as snuggly as it did when I first got it.  I tried slightly bending the hole in the middle of it, but this only worked temporarily.Second, the stem has an inner aluminum (I think) core, and a solid, probably copper body.  I notice that drippings from the ma'assell sometimes collect between the two pieces inside the stem.  Even though I clean it after every smoke, brown drops of water sometimes come out when I go to pick up the stem for a smoke the next day.  This doesn't happen all the time though, and really, it could just be a slight defect in the stem I have. Aside from these minor issues, the hookah smokes very, very well, especially considering it's size.  Plus, the price is great, and Social Smoke has top-notch service.  They are my favorite online vendor of the many I have purchased from, and they will treat you well both before and after you have bought from them.  Welcome to the world of hookah!
