Losing Interest In Hookah....

Recommended Posts

So when I started hookah a few months ago, all the flavors were delicious to me. I couldn't find a bad one. Now just about everything I try I just... don't like. My sessions last about 20 minutes then I call it a day.

I've tried 3 of the lucid line flavors, didn't like any. Tried 4 tangiers flavors, didn't like any. Got good flavor and smoke, just didn't like it. I had Nakhla Peach but got tired of it after 10 minutes. AF watermelon doesn't do it, any cherry flavors totally gross me out. Pink lemonade was good the first time, crappy every time afterwards. Burnt out on blue mist.

What the hell people? Anybody have ANY suggestions on flavors that'll re-ignite my love for hookah? Nothing is good any more.

try some more AF flavors and delve into some Golden AF especially eskandarani apple or try nakhla double apple. Either way it seems that you should smoke with others who like to smoke the hookah. For me hookah is a way to just hang out with friends and chill. Just try more flavors mainly

You cant make it just about the flavors. I always try to make hookah a meaningful experience with good times and good friends. It isnt the hookah thats the center, but the company you're with that makes it a great thing.

I agree with doubon, stop smoking for a few weeks and after that dont smoke by yourself. If you're smoking alone then it means you're smoking out of boredom, and that shouldnt be what hookah is about.

I'm also feeling a bit bored of it. I've tried so many flavors that it doesn't feel like there are many more for me to try. I've been smoking my pipes more and more often lately, enjoying the complexities of the tobaccos.

I still smoke hookah with friends, but not normally by myself anymore.

I say just take a break from it and maybe try something new. I'll always hold a special place in my heart for the hookah smile.gif

+1 to what Apoc said. I rarely smoke by myself (of course, one of my roommates and most of my friends love hookah, so that helps), and I never seem to get sick of it.

Also, experiment with other types of flavors, not just fruity ones. Try some earthy or flowery mixes and flavors e.g. Arabic Coffee, Vanilla, and Pipe Tobacco; or Mint, Jasmine, Rose, etc) or even mix a bit of your fruit flavors in with some flavors like that. Just experiment more and expand your horizons.

Well said words.

I honestly don't think that I will ever come to a point where I am just going to get 'bored' from smoking, because every time I smoke, I think about it as if I'm smoking for the first time. I try to make every smoking experience as good as possible.

I agree with everyone for the most part, just take a little break, don't smoke....unless one day you're like hey, i really would like to relax with some friends and get some tasty smoke with good convo.

Whenever I'm smoking, I try to do it with friends, my laptop (music) and that's about it. Or shit, if you have to smoke by yourself, get a good book and enjoy a warm summer's night outside, slide on some headphones and just let the day surround you.

But to be honest I get bored to, I"m sure everyone does at some point. Sometimes it's flavors, sometimes it's just because it's become a habit. Whenever I find that I'm smoking out of habit I promise myself I'm not going to smoke for a day or two and I go running instead. Then when that third day pops around I find that I really would enjoy relaxing with my hookah and it tastes so much sweeter.

But if you are looking for flavors it sounds like you've been going towards a lot of the sweeter stuff, which I enjoy too, but expand a little bit.

Rose with mint
orange/mint/and some chamomile tea
double apple, mint, melon
lemon, mint
straight up mint sometime
coffee

just a few ideas of my experiences over the year. But getting a new bowl, new flavors, or a new hose always excites me again.

i agree with above that say take a break. I have been known to take a break for a couple weeks just because everything was blah to me. When i got it back i found a new interest in it. I find i have to take a break for several days pretty often, since i mostly smoke with my self and my roommate popping in for a few hits and then not wanting more. So i do have to make it for the flavors. So when i get burned out i find something else to do for a couple of days. It works pretty well.

+1 to reading and smoking, I think this is one of m favorite past times now. Just focus on the book, and not on smoking and before you know it you need to purge the smoke cuz it got stale. Not saying your wasting shisha but more so just puffing and enjoying your book.

I rarely smoke by myself anymore. I just love having people over or chillin' at the beach with a hookah. I've introduced so many people to hookah too, so it's all about how I'm with. take a break. if you don't want to smoke again in a few weeks or whatever, it wasn't meant to be...

Hookah never gets old for me because I do it when doing my favorite things: reading and watching movies/TV. I mostly smoke alone, but that's because I'm a loner by nature.

Hobbies only get old when you do them alone for their own sake or out of boredom. Try having a hookah party, going to hookah lounges to meet people, or starting a trend of smoking hookah to relax at the end of a long day with a good book/movie.

But everyone burns out eventually unless they are obsessed. I have played certain computer games for literally like months on end, nonstop. Got so into them, that I started dreaming about them. At work, I'd just spend my time devising new tactics or lurking forums. Eventually, the interest burns out. But I still go back to them sometimes. Sometimes, a hobby is a phase. Sometimes, it's a passion that sticks. Sometimes, it's a passion that flares up and down at times. Totally normal, dude. smile.gif

If all I did was smoke alone, I would have sold my hookah off years ago. I last ten minutes then get bored. Get your buddies, start up the grill, and do some good old fashion chillin'.

I took a break before, came back and it was better than ever.
