Giant Ninja Robot
I've noticed that there's alot of KM and Mya lovin' on the pages (rightly so) and little is actually discussed about Magdy Zidans. It seems like I've seen a few posts stating that they smoke pretty darn well but not much else below the surface of that. They do average about 35-60% cheaper than the average KM and like 40-70% less than Myas (estimation) right so what's the dif? Are MZs a nice smoke or are they just a nice smoke for the monay (thats for you QM)? Maybe give a 1-10 in comparison to KMs and Myas with reasons why MZs are superior or inferior?Do tell, do tell...Thanks in advance for the enlightenment.- << you gotta admit it does look like a ninja in killing frenzy mode Edited July 20, 2008 by giant ninja robot
SimplexCoda
well i cant say as i have never used an MZ, but i do think so of them looks pretty fancy. but I do love my KM, i think my next hookah (if i ever can get another) will be an MZ
MechAnt
The forum is a little bandwagon-y (not ragging on anyone by any means).KM is the rage now. It was once MYA but people still recognize them as good pipes. MZ's are still relatively recent in the hookah market in terms of its brand name being recognized as a good brand.I'm one of the few people here that will outright say that MZ is my hookah brand of choice. They smoke just as well as a KM or MYA, its pretty well agreed on that it is the skill of packing of a bowl that determines how good a smoke is. I love MZ's because of the great smoke they give all while being offered at a great price.Bring on the "ZOMFGWTFBBQ!!!11! THAT'S BLASPHEMY!!11!! OMFG HOW DARE YOU!" SmokinMoose
The only difference I have heard of between the MZ and the KM is that the KM has a better purge. Other than that they smoke the same.
Giant Ninja Robot
i dont think ive ever even purged my hookah before. Why does one purge? So thanks for that opinion, Moose, I guess it wont affect me much
peterjmag
I have an MZ Pharaoh with a Jezebel base. It's truly an awesome hookah. While I can't make a comparison to a KM (still haven't spent any decent amount of time with one), I can say that I prefer MZs to Myas. Myas smoke fine, I just don't really like the materials that Mya uses to build most of their hookahs. Somehow, Egyptian hookahs just feel more genuine. Mostly because I am compulsive about cleaning them, and I don't need a tub for Mya's, plus the are sturdy and smoke absolutely smooth. Rarely do I have to purge. I love MZ's and KM's. MZ's smoke great, never had an issue with purge. KM's smoke just like my Hookah-Shisha Pharaoh. Good Smoke.
jakescakes
ima tell you a secret, you may not like it, you may not believe it, you may not understand it, and I may not even be sober at the moment either!!but, I personally place the "bowl" higher up on the pedestal rather than the hookah in terms of importance during a session.when you talk about these name brand hookah's, for the most part, they are all sufficient enough, well crafted enough, to give you a "perfect smoke" unless this hookah is obviously a piece of shit, and I trust you all have the ability to distinguish between that, the only differences I can tell are mostly gonna be cosmetic, so pick whichever one you like. sure there are subtle variations here and thereI believe the secret lies within the bowl, as in the dimensions and shape of it, then the quality of tobacco, and finally the quality of the coals/hole pattern.ninja edit: actually the hose is really important as well, its must be a washable, and must be clean for maximum enjoyment.I think that the actualy hookah represents the "condom" of a good sexing session. as long as it doesn't leak, its good to go. When you go to pick a condom from the store, when comparing brand names you know about (trojan, durex, lifestyle) they all pretty much go through the same tests, so either pick would work. but whats gonna make that girl feel good is your is the shape and size of your. . So thanks for that opinion, Moose, I guess it wont affect me much I smoke alone and for long sessions, so it is very important for me to have a good purge. MZ's are great Hookahs, and I want to buy a couple of them. I personally like the looks of KM's much better. Canon and I used his MZ when he came to FL when I was visiting there. I liked it very much except for the purge.
Giant Ninja Robot
So MechAnt I checked out your review of the MZ perpetual Riverhttp://www.hookahforum.com/?showtopic=20696 and I gotta say I like it better than most KMs I've seen. It's like a modern twist on a traditional egyptian. That is one of the coolest stems I've ever seen and the way they frost the vase is really nice. I'm thinkin after I get my QT I may pick this sucker up, then go for the KM eventually. Great review by the way.
hookah hippie
I own a KM 2 MZs a MYA and A brandless hookahMZs smoke incredibly well but my KM is my favorite hookah do not get me wrong though all of my hookahs smoke incredibly well its all about setting it up well and then having an excellent hookah. Give an amatuer an expensive camera and he will take a picture.Give a professional a disposable camera and he will take a masterpiece
Thorshookah
MZ are a little more refine than the KM. although they are both made in Egypt and handmade its like the same thing. the KM was the first one and has that rep. al myas are way over priced and made in china by a machine. the KM and MZ are all hand made giving each hookah a custom feel to it. the MZ may be a little cleaner than the KM but i own a KM and kills any other brand that i have hit. As you could tell, the pictures say it all. Well made, beautiful and smokes like a monster. Regardless, its meaningless to write about how it smokes so well its like h4x. No matter what pipe it is, if the bowl is subpar, the smoke will be as well.
Codename067
What a dilemmaOne will tell you got with MYA QT cause its portable, one will tell you go with MZ because its less expensive and smokes well, and I will tell you to go with KM for consistency, GREAT smoke, best purgers, and smoothest draws. Choose wisely.
Canon
i bought an MZ and regret it. its a cheaply build hookah, the metal is thin and the vase is wobbly. it smokes fine because the inner stem is wide and it purges fine. but as far as how well its build you can see why its cheaper then KM's or MYA's. ilikemyusername
i love my MZ, clean welds, shiny chrome finish, attention to detail.my only complaint about it is the fact that the hose it came with was hard to draw, but i was planning on getting a razan anyway, so i did. as far as it being thin metal or anything like that, so is any other egyptian, except for a km.its not so thin that its going to get dented easily, i don't see it being a problem.my hafa purges a bit better than my nefertiti, but i like my nefertiti, she's my baby, all sexy and shiny...down right alluring.when you see the two next to each other with my old ass 2hose rotator (piece of shit) and my QT, the nefertiti commands attention to herself. Giant Ninja Robot
I'm gonna get me an MZ while their still cheap. wpw36 I had the exact same thoughts. I remember reading an older post about someone who bought a KM at MZ type prices and is laughing now at the higher price for KMs everyone pays. I wont laugh but i will buy an MZ Perpetual River before the year is up. Count on that.
