Animosity
So last night I was at a friends chillin over there sippin a couple beers with his family. His whole family is full on arab so it wasnt a surprise that they bust out a hookah. This was totally new to me so of course so I join the cirle. And let me tell ya, I FELL IN LOVE!!. I need to get of these babaies baaddddd. My only question is how much does a decent one run about and where do ya get em?. I was thinkin headshops because thats where i usually see them. I dont wanna get something to fancy. Lets say I have about 75$ bucks to spend. His Dad decreibed to me the whole process of the coals and stuff so I got that down. But if someone wants to give me a basic run through that would be great. And any personal advice is always welcome. And I totally mistyped the title ooopppsss Edited July 20, 2008 by Animosity

pigpen
If you have to figure in shipping into that $75 bucks you will be a little limited.A lot of the vendors offer beginner packages that give you 2 or 3 samples of shisha, and coals to get you started. 50 grams of shisha will give you 2-4 bowls, depending on the size of your bow. Also check the vendor area for discount codes. Generally you will save about 10%. That might be enough to cover shipping.

neffertiti
i got my first from hookah-shisha.com (the glyph) mainly because it gave you all the hoses, some quicklight coals, and a couple of shisha packs to begin with. they also have a couple different companys "sample packs" that will give you 10 or 12 flavors from one company
cotsi95
You can also use Japanese coals which are a natural coal with a quick lite shell. They do take longer then quick lites to lite but not as long as full naturals. I recommend Fumari, or golden canary Japanese coals. STAY AWAY from Japanese coals that come three to a stick, four to a stick is what you want. Also southsmoke.com is a good place too.
