I have a suspision that there is definately a factory assembly line somewhere in the process. Where is the question...And N-Nights, I think having something made by hand just kinda passes the care, love, and soul put into it onto the user. The difference between a manufactured katana and a hand folded and forged katana made by a master swordsmith is vast. Same general concept. I was not speaking strictly in terms of hookah but any craft that takes time and effort and is made by hand as opposed to machine made. I'm sure there are exceptions.??? Um, I never said KMs are completely handmade... The only "premium" brand hookah I've smoked is a Mya and I loved it. I don't own either so I'm not bias and never compared Myas to Kms at all. But when you see a KM, you can see where it was welded by hand. MYA's have much more clean welds. SO, a lot of you are thinking, "duh, thats a good thing." And I agree, if thats what you like, great. But some people don't mind the minor cosmetic imperfections that come along with a human being actually performing the labor. Welded/Soldered Hookahs are air-tight 99.99% of the time...now when you start messing with screws, threads start going bad..air stars leaking in...new parts must be bought...ect.Soldering is way more long lasting than screws. Just a fact. Screws/threads eventually wear out. ilikemyusername Posted July 22, 2008 Share Posted July 22, 2008 the bowls for mya arent even hand made.what exactly do they mean by "hand made" nomeone pushed a button and started the day? you cannot make a thousand QT's that all look exactly the same and call it hand made. no doubt there are people losing limbs to make chinese pipes, but there are mexican kids losing lims to make cheese burgers in factory farms and I for on a-anyway, theres no way they're handmade. .
