What Not To Do.

Recommended Posts

Do not put a burning coal in your 8 year old glass ash tray.

So i put a coal in my glass ashtray with the tongs on it, as i smoked my hookah, watching tv, when my tongs make contact with my glass table. I look down and my ashtray is broke in two.

Not the most interesting thing to talk about, but just keep this in mind next time.

Yeah, I had that happen to me about 3 years ago. Thermal Shock = BAD!

Learned that about 4 years ago. Dumped the hookah on the floor, tossed the coal in the ashtray sitting outside. 5 seconds later heard a loud crash and found the ashtray exploded in to a bunch of pieces.

dont drop a tip to your nammor/razan you will get a similar break

What?

the tip of the hose that can be removed and washed, that piece that goes into the handle ... if you drop it it will most likely break sort of like the way the ash tray broke.

damn that sucks does anyone who uses a glass bowl with a glass screen ever have a similar problem?

the glass bowls and screens are pyrex which has different heating and cooling properties to it and it wont break due to a sudden heating up it will onlt break if it is hot and gets exposed to really cold water.

i use a crappy old sauce pan as a coal holder/carrier it works great

Had the same result with a 1cm thick bohemian crystal ashtray. Only it was standing on my kitchen table and I was out of the room for a while. Thank God the table didn't catch fire. smile.gif
