billy
I just bought some AF Berrys and AF Pinapple, first thing I realised was the cut from older products was really different. It was'nt as juicy and really small cut and if you hold it in your hand it's like sand in your hand.AF MINT PROD : JULY 2007AF PINEAPPLE PROD : MARCH 2008Also, the flavour has gone really really low it's always dull and can barely taste it.Your thoughts? AKammenzind
Hrm, the cut on the new stuff looks a lot like Al Amir. Not impossible that you got some imitation AF, was all the packaging legit?

Not impossible that you got some imitation AF, was all the packaging legit?its legit, AF's tobacco is now a much smaller cut. I noticed also that not only was it less juicy, but that the tobacco now burns a lot easier. Making heat management a bitch for AF. Why does af mess with the recipes when everything is already good? if it aint broke dont fix it!
TizaNabi
You have good taste buying Al-Fakher .If you don't want the fake stuff with AF packing, look for their company hologram. If it has a hologram its Kosher even for Passover!
billy
Yup, it's all legit. They've changed the package of the 50g's too (inside)
filmigeek
I have been finding that the 250g tubs of Al Fakher I've bought are much juicier and better to smoke than the 50g packs. I'll have to check dates; it didn't occur to me that it might be a change in the recipe and cut. I thought it might be that they put better stuff in the 250g tubs. iamscott06
I just got a 250g of the AF Peach, cut looks really small but it still juicy. I havent had any problems with it burning or anything like that..
ryno
I noticed this too. I have a 250g of Watermleon that has an older date than my 50g Mint, and the Mint is a much smaller cut. Still full of flavor though
spoolinspoon
flavor is still there. The cut is A LOT finer. I still have some old grape and Lemon and there is a HUGE difference. I don't like the new cut but thats just me.
hookah hippie
People must learn that if it isn't broken don't fix it. Inconsistensy in brands really turns off frequent smokers

Inconsistensy in brands really turns off frequent smokers That's the gulf states for you... there isn't anything that they don't do backwards. From my own experience of working for Kuwaitis for a long time, I'll bet the guys "in charge" of Al-Fakher come to the AF offices for 20 minutes a day, just to smile and act like the boss. Then they leave to sunbathe. They probably have a lot of people working for them--Egyptians, Pakistanis, Philipinos--with absolutely no guidance or direction about what they are supposed to do.The executives at AF probably don't even know that their grape tastes like ketchup and the cut of their shisha has changed.--end rant about gulf state Arabs--- Ronald
abu-ness
here in Mexico, we only have the new cut of AF, its good but not like it was, but i solve the poblem paking my bowl more tight, i se ann egiptian deep bowl, and with double layer of foil, and i split my coal 3 kings in 2, and i place the halfs in the corner of the bowl, not in the center, thats fix the prob. and you will get vey good clouds and an excellent flavorjust try it

AzZ
The new AF cut sucks tbh. I had some coconut which was very fine and i'm not sure how it's suppose to taste but it was very mellow and bland Was definately not juicy either. This makes me sad to see AF fucking everything up. It was fine before so why the change.....
Sahara Smoke Co
al fakher is going to stay like this new way for a long time, it isnt just randon mistakes with flavoring or cut. they have changed their process. this started months ago, right around when the "ketchup" grape started showing its nasty head. it almost seems as they have completely changed manufacturers (it is made in the same place as al amir) they are cutting costs. in a few months you wont find the good af in the states anymore. a lot of the top flavors are already sold out of the long cut (good stuff) the last shipment we received, only 8 of the flavors had the older man. date. imo, the new af isnt that bad, its still very affordable, its not like it used to be though. a lot of shisha brands seem to be changing the flavoring and cut. instead of af cutting costs with the shisha production, they should of cut costs with the packageing. they spend way too much money on their 250g tubs. you have to go through 3 different packages just to get the tobacco in the tub. plus they have every wrapper with their logo on it. all it needs to be is great shisha in the tuib with a sticker on the side. thats it, all the rest just goes in the trash anyway. but thats just my opinion. im sure a mutil million worldwide tobacco company like af doesnt care what i think. they have been succesful on their own with out my opinions
web250_is_mad
Interesting Sahara...thanks for your side of things.I've always been a big AF fan. If the new cuts are like AA though, I won't buy it. Always thought AA was overrated tobacco.

MechAnt
I've noticed the change and I actually love it! The finer cut allows for a more even burn and soaks up good flavor without having to constantly mix it. Grape's flavor is very intense, mango is smooth, and mint is mint! AF 4 lyfe yo! Raziel510
Wow, it's kind of dissapointing to here this about AF. I just ordered a bunch of AF with my new KM purchase so I hope it's not as bad as everyone says it is. Damnit...i really don't want to pay for starbuzz. Giant Ninja Robot
I'm pretty pissed about this thread. I smoked AF for the first time recently and looooved it and had 7 250s on my list and now dont know what to do. I've had major problems with Al Amir and vowed to never buy their stuff again and if AF is now the exact same shit....AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!! WHY AF WHY!?!?!?!?!!! YOU MAY HAVE JUST LOST A LIFE LONG CUSTOMER!!!!!!!!I am really pissed about this, please let me know if some of the stuff is still good. I don't care about the cut just the smoothness and flavor although I do like my tobacco juicier.
