A Pipe But Not What You Think

Recommended Posts

Have any of you guys used a clear flexible plastic pipe instead of the regular hose you get when you purchase a hookah?
I have found that these let you taste the flavour of the tobacco you are smoking without that arb taste you get from the regular pipes. I got the clear pipe from a hardware store and found the right fit. Its awesome as when it gets dirty, you just buy a new one, you can get any length and its cheap.

Just wondering if anyone else has done this (?) and what you think about it?

I made one out of vinyl tubing, and like scoop said, I dont like the look of them either. It is nice since I can clean it. I usually only use it when I smoke by myself.

I have a vinyl one now too! It's a temp until I buy a cobra hose, but I figured I had to fashion a temp base for the hookah, why not get rid of my hose (which rusted to hell because I was a dipshit). I also found a big diameter, short one (big enough to fit over the bigger metal piece that shows on the hose tip) and it almost works like a clear hose cover for the smoking end. Smell isn't too bad for me, could be because I washed it inside and out before using it with dish soap.

Here is my clear vinyl hose. I meant to post about it in a DIY post but I'm so busy all of the time. Anyways, I wrapped the whole thing in black yarn and used some spare wooden hose attachments from an old crappy tasting hose.

I heated the hose slightly to make it more flexible. Then I pushed it onto the wood a little ways. Then I put down super glue, then pushed it on as far as it would go.

I also tied 100s of knots of yarn around the ends with really long leftover yarn and then trimmed it all down to the same length. I keep meaning to stain the wood red, but busy busy busy.

By the way this project took a really long time and was really boring. I forgot to mention that it's around 84" of hose, and that I coiled the yarn tightly the whole length of it. Every 6 inches or so I would place a drop of super glue down. Anyways, it always hits nice and it's really easy to wash. When you make it this long the slight loss in flexibility means absolutely nothing.

When my cobra hose got a bunch of nasty shit in it I chopped out the middle and replaced it with the vinyl. Washed it with some lemon juice, never got that nasty taste. Good times.. good times!

Never needed to

BAM!!@11!!

lol bro, those are some of the nastiest hoses I've ever seen. When you resort to stuffing tissues in half of them and wrapping with duct tape, I think its time to let go!

to the OP, homedepot hoses are pretty badass.
