JaklarOcksa
Hi guys, I normally smoke pipes, and occasionally cigars, but I've been wanting to try a hookah for a couple of years now. (Ever since one of my friends told me about how he filled his whole kitchen with smoke, hehe.) Well, I've decided the time has come to make this investment. I've been searching and reading on here, and on various online store sites, and from everything I've read, it seems to me that the Kalil Mamoon or the MZ is definitely the way to go. #1: Whichever hookah I get should be paired with the naamor hose and a phunnel, + 3 Kings charcoal and shisha of choice. Does this sound about right? So now comes the decision: which one? I haven't, honestly, seen too many reviews of MZ hookahs, while the KMs have quite a loyal following. I like the MZ's lower price, but on the other hand, I figure that if I get a good hookah that smokes well, I won't need to upgrade to a better one, and so it might be cheaper to just go with the KM, if it really is better. So Question #2: Can anyone who has smoked both kinds give their thoughts? #3: Also, with the KMs (and I realize this is kind of a digression, for which I apologize) does anybody know the exact difference between the Amoura and the Exotica? I have priced the Amoura (36") @ 79.99, the Exotica (40") @ 74.99, and the Exotica Jr. (35") @ 69.99. Do a few inches really make that much difference? By contrast, the MZ I was looking at, the Safari, comes in 24" and 26" kinds, and is 31.99 or 33.99. I guess what I'm really asking is, is the KM that much better a smoke to justify plunking down the extra dough? And does height matter that much? Thanks for taking the time to answer!Eric
wpw36
i just got my perpetual river and the thing is solid it may be light but dont let that fool you the thing is SOLID and frankly i would say they are probably really close on quality if not the same
hookah hippie
Okay I own 2 KMs and 2 MZs I love them all and are very comparable you will enjoy any of which you purchase I personally might lean towards the KMs but I find that either choice would be good I would stick with what you originally decided with the nammor hose the height difference won't factor too much after a point I'd say after about 26" hope this helps I am really tired
JaklarOcksa
Thanks for the quick replies. What, if I may ask, (I know this is kind of a subjective thing, it's like this with pipes, too) makes the KM have a slight edge? Is it a bit better built? Does it give a better smoke? MechAnt
Most people will instantly yell out "KM!!1!1!!1!!"But either way, they are both excellent pipes that can compete with only each other. I'd give the slight edge to KM. MZ has the edge in terms of price to awesomeness ratio and the look is something I like to refer to as "contemporary egyptian" although the new KM's are adopting the look. NickReppinThe909
bang for your buck = MZeasier pull but higher price = KMfor timeless beauty i say go for a 2 or 3 metal KM but for simple and functional go with MZ and the perp river is the sexiest MZ IMO
momatik
They are basically the same man.If I was you, I'd go with an MZ.That way I could get a phunnel bowl, a nammor hose, some natural coals (no 3 Kings man, only natural coals), and plenty of AF. hookah hippie
I would probably get natural coals qls suck. UNless you plan on smoking far away from you or anyones homes then they are necessary
Rani
I have both MZs and KMs - several of each. The draw is just slightly easier on the KMs but honestly, until you're someone who's sitting there comparing pipes, you're not goint to notice any real difference. KMs are a little bit more ornate, but they also tend to use a variety of metals which means more upkeep and polishing to keep it looking pretty. MZs are pretty much all stainless so a quick wipe down after brushing and it looks good as new. Personally I suggest whichever pipe appeals to you. Owning both, I'll continue to collect both.'Rani
Stuie
First I wanna say go for natural coals, I use coco's but even really bad naturals are better than good quicklights.KM or MZ smoked out of both but honestly, my next hookah will probably be a MZ Safari.Still love my pharaoh from hookah-shisha.com and ALL MY MYA'S!!!!!!!!!!What ever smokes good for you is, is the one you should get, not the one we tell you to get. Pick what YOU like!

JaklarOcksa
Thanks all. I like the idea of saving a bit of cash, which means I can try out more shisha, lol. I think I'll go with the MZ, and when I get it, I'll let you all know what I think, and my initial impressions, first time smoking a hookah after being a pipe man.
