What’s with this Glycerin?

Recommended Posts

I just tried a couple drops of the glycerin I got to wake up some Nakhla apple. Oh dudes, I don't know if this stuff is the right answer. It has a very chemical taste (no, it's not the Nakhla. I adore Nakhla regular apple). I can't place it but it reminds me of a floral/chemical/eucalyptus taste. Reminds me of mint thrown in with a double apple. Just weird.
This is what the bottle says: Glycerin USP.

Where did I go wrong? Help?

glycerin is what a lot of Ma'asells use already nerv. some folks use it to revitalize a dry ma'asell.
Hmm...since glycerin is being dissapeared off shelves due to national security..i wonder what else they have added to the stuff you still can get if you know what I mean?

Most shisha tobacco has 3%  (listed by some companies) in each mixture. I've read recently in a few places that it adds the sweetness and "vaporizes" better than honey or too much extra molasses. (Give it up, haven't YOU ever added some blackstrap molasses to one of your funny mixes, just to see, and smell it cooking right under your nose like a burnt pie)?

Good luck finding a brand that only uses 3% glycerine. Try 50-60%. That should be the stuff. USP anhydrous glycerine. USP is a grade, United States Pharmaceutical or something like that(ultra-pure) 99.5% pure, thats right. Anhydrous means without water. Stir the whole mixture of tobacco and glycerine up. Make sure they didn't add fragrance to it. It sounds like that is what has happened. It should say so, somewhere, in the ingregients or under the heading "inactive ingredients". Pure glycerine should have no perceptible aroma, since it has a negligible vapor pressure (it doesn't evaporate). On a bowl of tobacco (25g, you should be able to get away with putting in three or four drops, depending on how big your drops are. Let me know, please. If need be, I can send you 99.7% kosher glycerine.

Yep, you have really payed yor dues. I guess you can advertise a little bit.
Thinking about it now, I really belive my machine was contaminated with the Serb mint stuff. I scrubbed it out really good wit ha little baking soda in my brush and flushed it really good. I then smoked a bowl of strawberry and had no mint residue. I'll give it another shot tonight.
Thanks all.

Very interesting In Germany, because of the law that restricts our tobacco to 5% of glycerine, it's nearly USUAL to put some glycerine on the tobacco...But here you just have to go to an apothecary and buy some  glycerine, it's really cheap, and it has a good effect, it smokes great and the taste is still okay. There's also a company that sells a mixture called "Honeymix". That's a mix of honey, molasses and glycerine which ROCKS 3 or 4 drops of honeymix on the head and it smokes great greetsTim

TANGIERS, thanks a plenty for the info on glycerine. I bought a bottle a while back but only used it twice. It worked nice. The lowdown from Deutschland also makes lots of sense. The glycerine besides is more expensive than tobacco and "surplus" fruit. And Tangiers says he can get 99.7% Kosher glycerine. Is that like being 99.7% pregnant? Its not kosher on Pesach (Passover Holiday) , unless its nullified to the whole of the mixture which it aint so I "Pass Over" my Hubbly Bubbly on those 7 days.Hubbly Bubbly 613

See, now this is where your lazy, hard to read typing style can get you into trouble. When dealing with chemical names, glyceric, if it exists, could be very different in makeup from glycerin. I believe the proper forms are glycerin, glycerine, and glycerol.
