pimpy
Bit of a lurker, but I always get my best info from this site - fo sho.Chillin with a bit of Nakhla double apple right now.I was all about the fruit, but I just ordered a bunch of coffee, chocolate, mint flavors... can't wait. I'm watching the shipping tracking every day. I've introduced a bunch of people to hookahs. Everyone thinks they're awesome.Sometimes I find that Nakhla is a little too strong, so I gotta chill with it a bit.I love putting a little extra "spice" in with Al Waha tho... if you know what I mean. Mine is a tall two tube, but one of the tubes started leaking. I was kinda pissed, but it's totally annoying to have to plug up the other side when its two people. I will say this tho... when you got two people hittin at the same time, it reeeally gets the smoke thick... nice! But I sealed up the broken one... just using it as a one tube right now. Was happy to see that others recommend one tube any way. I was looking at the auto seal thing, and I'm glad that other people had bad experience with it, so I didn't order a new one. I've been working with a case of 3 kings coals for a while... really annoying cuz you need two to get good smoke worked up. Just ordered some "golden charcoals"... it said they're bigger... I hope they're like the big ones at the shisha bars around here.O.K. That's all for now. Time for a little chillin with the hook while the lady-friend watches TV... hee hee. Thanks again for all the helpful advice!
yashman19
Welcome partna! I just inherited a metric butt-ton of nahkla, so I'm gunna have to start giving it another go. I started with nahkla, moved on to other brands and haven't smoked it since, so it might get interesting.. But I do agree, nahkla can really put you on your backside if power-puffed Ask any questions you might have, or if possible, share some pictures of your machine. We would all enjoy it
pavlakos_politakos
yea i too have been smoking nakhla for quite a while and only recently found a place that actually sells something besides nakhla. i bought some havana and some AF fruit cocktail.good stuff i must say.not planning on converting back to nakhla anytime soon.and about the 3 kings being too small i had a few boxes of big ones which i must say were wonderful and covered almost all the bowl with one.i could never find them again though. Then for this order, I saw a box of "bigger" 3 kings... I dunno... I'm confused. Just hoping the ones I got on their way are the better ones. Total pain in the ass to have the small ones...I'll burn two to begin with... then an hour later stack another on to keep up the flame... but its not enough... so I gotta add another one on top of it. That's just a huge pile at that point. Total buzz-kill. The two don't even neatly fit... so one has to be on an angle, which means not enough surface area on the bowl.Lame. Pray for my shipment on its way to be the big-uns...
jmexx
Well the problem is Nahkla. I used to use two coals as well, back in my Nahkla days. I have 3kings, the regular ones. I smoke Al Amir now and use only one coal. If the water is perfectly set (not necessarily the one inch rule, it takes some practice and expirements,) then you shouldn't be having the no-smoke problem. Give it a shot and ask here if you have anymore questions ;)Jon

One thing that was nice about the Nahkla is that when you want something a little strong, it does the trick.I keep Al Waha for a lighter mix and Nahkla for stronger...Peace. pavlakos_politakos
i started cutting those smaller 3kings into pieces.it works much better because they fit on the bowl the way you want them to.try it out.
jmexx
Cutting them does help.Al Amir has a very flavourful taste. It's not like dry tobaccos (Nahkla and Al Waha,) becoming harsh much quicker. It's not a gourmet tobacco like Fumari, but I find Fumari to be a one of the kind tobacco, most probably laced with crack. The first thing you notice from Al Amir (that goes for other brands like AF, Havana, Laylana (SP?),) is that it's a very JUICY tobacco. This isn't always a good thing since it may burn quicker if it's not properly heated. This is why I now only need one coal rather then the old two.It really depends on your taste/needs.Next to try, though, would have to be tangy-boy's tobacco (aka Tangiers.) Sorry, I'm going to try out some different nicknames for Tangiers to see what suites him better .Jon
pimpy
I originally bought my hook from a guy who started an online store and then shut it down... but he's got a sh*t load of stuff that he just said he's giving away to friends! Unfortunately, he's only got Al Waha, so I guess I'll be working that for a while. When I burn it all tho, I'll definitely try Al Amir... and maybe Fumari! Sonthert
Thanks Jammy-X!Fumari's good, back in the day there were only three companies Nahkla was the first and one of my favorites. Although Bahraini, I though, was excellent.

Color coordinated hose... nice!Currently checking out Al Waha cappacino... very nice...No one told me that the wind guard makes the fire hotter! Better smoke...!
pavlakos_politakos
yea i started using the wind guard just so the coals dont get pushed off accidently by me or my baby brother whos always curious when i smoke.but anyway i noticed it definently helps keep much more heat in and now i need less coals.
