TizaNabi
Try the Most favourite woman singer from Egypt known as "The Nation's Mother" "Oom Kool Toom". Since its in arabic it could be written Uum Kuul Tuumor Uum Khul Thum. She sang from the 40's and 50's mostly. Often one 8 hour long song at concerts for the former King of Eqypt. The first time a gu once said to me 35 years ago "Ever hear of Uum Kuul Tuum?" I said, you mean "Uncle Tom's Cabin"? We weren't both on the same page. TizaNabi
QUOTE (srawas89 @ Aug 5 2008, 05:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I say google famous arabic Singers, Here are some good ones, for classic go with Om Kalthoum (although some songs are an hour long haha), for more modern and pop like go with Haifa Wehbe, Nawal Zoughby, Nancy Ajram, Moustafa Amar, Omr Diab, Miriam Fares, Fares karam. As you can tell I listen to a lot of pop arabic music, its all a good mix of upbeat, chill, cultural music.Oum Khal Toum sang an 8 hour song for the (very former) Sultan of Eqypt King Farouk!!Do you like Farid Al-Atrash the Syrian Druze singer? Kapten Kanel
Trance in all its forms usually works very nice. Chillout or even ambient works to, can be really nice sometimes, check out http://www.djriver.com/comp_menu_.htm for some really nice atmospheric music

Look it up if you fans don't have it - it's great and aptly titled "Youth Dub" I think.I saw them live opening for 311 last summer and they were FANTASTIC. His band is made up of stellar musicians. The drummer is wonderful. At one point the lead guitarist and Matisyahu went off on this crazyass back and forth beatboxing/solo guitar duet/battle. It was nuts. Great show and 311 rocked hard.
