[US police are investigating a teenager who allegedly amassed an arsenal of weapons and bomb-making materials and had a map to George W. Bush's weekend retreat.
Authorities in Washington said recent high school graduate Collin McKenzie-Gude had a map of the Camp David Maryland retreat which highlighted the route taken by the presidential motorcade and a fake CIA identification card, the Washington Post reported.

Investigators who searched the teen's home also found a document appearing to explain how to shoot someone from 200m away, a false identity of a federal contractor with purported protection under the Geneva Convention, and a list of the addresses of teachers at St Johns College, the Washington high school he recently graduated from.

The teenager also allegedly had a list of items yet to be bought, including equipment to convert semi-automatic rifles to fully automatic weapons and range-finding glasses typically used by snipers.

Mr McKenzie-Gude and his father were arrested after the teen attacked a man on July 29 in an attempt to steal his car at a Bethesda, Maryland mall, in an apparent attempt to flee, news reports said.

His father, a retired air force officer and a Treasury Department employee, was charged with illegally buying guns for his son.

According to reports police found in Mr McKenzie-Gude's bedroom a store of assault rifles, armour-piercing bullets and explosive chemicals.

They also said that he, along with another teen, a year earlier had made pipe bombs and tested them in a countryside field outside Washington.

Investigators would not speculate on what the teen had intended to do with the weapons and Camp David map, but the CIA, FBI and Secret Service, which protects the US president, have now joined the investigation, the Post said.]

^very true it took me and one of the deputies i work with about 10 minutes to convert it to full auto and then back to 100% legal

also as soon as i get my class 3 FFL approved i will be converting my AR to full auto by replacing the lower receiver and 2 other parts (around $180 worth of parts and 5 minutes of time)

plus you can just buy a illegal assault rifle for about $250-400 BUT we have been doing a lot of weapons buy busts lately so if you try to im almost sure you would get arrested

If I remember right, (many years since) you can file the sere down a little to get full auto on an AR15. No, not the ideal sniper setup (full auto), but he may be thinking of full auto to escape and evade. May be a smart little shit.

they changed around the newer (post ban) lowers and lower parts kits so its a little harder to do it but its still possible

Only if you want a slam-firing, open bolt rifle that is, sooner, or later, destined to make your face a pile of goo. One of those rounds will go off when the bolt is open, or the case will fail from headspace error, then you get a hot-brass-shard injection to the face. The Klash, like most other combat auto-rifles, is designed to fire from a locked bolt, the recoil spring is in no way strong enough, nor the bolt mass great enough to contain an unlocked 40,000PSI detonation.

Keep in mind, the BATF says possession of any auto part(s), and a semi-auto rifle constitutes possession of a machine gun, regardless of your intention to assemble, or not. Don't get some wild hair and try a conversion, it's not worth the trip to the hospital or the legal ramifications. Apply for your NFA purchase legally, it's really not that hard. (unless you are in one of those liberal-nut-job states)
