What's The Difference?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I'm looking for a hookah for me and my roommates to buy. Now I was thinking that since we don't need anything huge or special a small one with one hose would be fine for 20-40$. However, one of them is certain that size, paint job, and number of hoses isn't the reason for prices going up. Would the small one be a piece of crap that wouldn't work for very long or is it just cheeper because it's smaller and simple?

well yes, to both of those, just depends on which hookah

there are a lot of Chinese junk ones around, that are really cheap but then there are other hookahs that are just cheap because of the size.

mya has a lot of small ones but they might be a little more than your price range, i havent really priced stuff out to much for the small hookahs.

one of the differences i just the amount of smoke it can produce, smaller ones can produce decent smoke but normally you wont get as huge of clouds as with a larger one but its not a huge deal (i think hose diameter is a bigger influence)

personally i wouldnt expect a hookah for 20 bucks to be good.

Look at the make of the hookahs. That's how you know if you are getting a quality product or not.

Chinese makes are not very good quality.

Egyptian are said to be the best.

The Magdy Zidan posted by Stuie is what I would recommend to you.

Don't expect to spend only 40 though. In all honesty, you'll probably spend more than that. Look at the expenses:

-If you buy the MZ, that's $34.
-a new hose when that one gets old, will run you $20.
-Then a phunnel bowl will run you at least $12.
-Shisha, which if your getting the absolute cheapest, will be around $8 for 250g.
-Charcoals are cheap. But they are heavy, which increases the cost in shipping.

These things add up, especially when you add shipping.

Over time all this stuff does pay itself off, but if you don't think you'll be smoking that much, and you have a relatively good and cheap hookah bar close by then that's always an option.

Go to gothookahs.com..... they have a couple smaller MZs under $40.00. I'm smoking out of a 26" MZ as I type this. $33 and change from gothookahs a few weeks ago. Smokes as well as any of my KMs or bigger MZs.

With hookahs, and with most anything, you get what you pay for. This is an investment that you will be much happier with if you save up and get something a little nicer. The MyaQT is a badass hookah for its size, but is beyond the range in which you're looking. My suggestion: pay a little more and you will be much happier with the result.

considering you can spend 20 on a tin of tobacco i would prefer to have my hookah cost a bit more around 60 and up

That makes no sense at all. Shisha price should have no impact on what hookah you buy. AF costs 9 bucks a tub and is some of the most quality stuff out there. Tangiers costs 13 a bag and is amazing. My hookah cost 30 bucks and I couldnt have asked for much better in that price range. Price isnt an indicator of quality all the time.

true but the manufacture of the hookah was 2 of the following, fast, good quality, low price. if it was good and cheap then it probably is not the most produced piece out there

i agree that you can get good stuff for cheap but most of the time now you have to pay good money to get anything that is good quality
