Understanding Tangier's Chemistry

It has come to my attention that when packing a bowl of Lucid Tangiers, it is possible to pack it just like Al-Fakher and use the same amount of coals as Al-fakher. This gets me thinking. Why is this? Why does the absence of nicotine in the lucid change it so drastically from the original. What does nicotine do to a tobacco? Does Nakhla not have equal amounts of nicotine and yet is supposedly the easiest shisha to pack? Does lucid use the same ingreidients as the original or is it really the nicotine that changes everything? What makes Original Tangiers so different from all other tobaccos with the same amount of nicotine that it needs such extensive and specific packing precedures.


One more; what would happend if you packed al-fakher like Tangiers original?

Lucid and the older stuff are the identcal cut of baccy. One is washed the other is not. I pack em both exactly the same way and get the same great results. As for the coals idk. Tangiers usually takes 3 square canarys for me or 2 cocos or 3 sometimes.

I have no idea about your first question but as to packing AF like Tangiers original...BAD IDEA. There wont be that much airflow in the tobacco and you will burn it BAD.
Edit: not to say that you are a noob at hookah or anything its just that it makes it VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY easy to burn AF when you pack it like TAngiers Original (I really should review my posts before I post them ) Edited August 10, 2008 by srawas89

I just talked to eric.....and he said its mainly because the nicotine. Thats the main reason. Cut of the baccy is pretty much exactly the same like I said before. PM me and ill give you his # and you can talk to him about it.
