gregbeaty
Hello all. I'm looking at the Mya Diva as a travel hookah. I live in the US and travel to Africa every 5 weeks for a 5 week rotation there. I'm looking for a decent hookah that I can travel with. When I'm at home, it will be just my wife and I smoking it. When I get here... I'm guessing I'll be lucky to have less than 3-4 people all wanting to hit it during a smoke. Will the Diva hold up to this? Should I maybe look into a Vortex? My plan was to buy a single hose unit then put the "auto-seal" adapter on it for the second hose. Now, I'm wondering if I shouldn't just get a 2 hose unit. ???Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm fairly new to hookah smoking. I will be in a place in Africa that I will have no access to anything I may need if I forget something or don't get something right when I leave so I would like to figure it all out before I leave again. You thoughts?Peace! Kathrynx
A two hose would be nice with the auto-seal, but traveling with an extra hose can be a little more troublesome. Just my opinon, because we would travel with my QT to bars and restaurants (when we lived in the states). You will be smoking it more than the others around you, just share the one hose I'd say. If you are worried about sharing germs and whatnot, use the plastic tips.We actually took 2 hookahs when we moved to Japan (because we are both smoke hogs). Make sure you get a good hookah case for the travel, and just stick it in your bag.
Stuie
Mya is definitely the way to go for traveling. Their cases are stellar.Diva is a good choice. I would buy it from Hookah-Shisha.com If you get a 2 hose, they send you the purge valve with the two hose and you take out one of the bb's in the autoseal hose adapters and bam your back to a one hose without having to buy another adapter, but in the future i probably would buy one for convience, they are only 4 bucks. The two Mya stock hoses and everything you need, even a couple rolls of quicklights and a few 50g packs of tobacco will fit right in that case. If you were spending the money what would you buy? It's only $10 bucks more so money isn't the issue. I just want to be sure I'm getting the best I can get. If I don't need a true "two hose" system i.e. if the single hose with adapter is ok, then I'll go that route. Thank you for the input. I'm pretty set on the Mya Diva unless someone has a really convincing argument as to why the Vortex would be better. Thanks again.Peace! Stuie
Peraonally this is what I would do:Buy the one hose, by two auto seal adapters and buy 2 Mod hoses from Hookah-shisha.comMy Buddy did this similarly:Bought Nou Nou two hose and takes the Ball Bearing out if he want's it a true one hose, and bought two Mod hoses. Same concept but mines a little quicker, his is a little cheaper, because you don't need a screwdriver to get the bearing out. Either way would work. The standard mya hoses aren't very consistent on the tips some times the metal is a little off so it feels weird. Either choice works.
