Naw... just use the SOS pad as the screen. Sit an SOS pad on top of your shisha... put coals on top, smoke up!

but the best way to clean is to boil with baking soda and then hit it with an s.o.s. pad afterwards

I use the scotch brite on my jet glass too nick but it's not enough for the screen.

does all the black stuff come out with the metal wool?

yes, eventually. takes a lot of scrubbing. i tried to boil it and it didn't make it any easier to clean. still had to scrub for a while

Seemed like i couldnt get enough heat the first time using mine..am I missing something? Anyone have any tips? I was using 3 Coconara's but just wasnt getting the smoke i should have been.

you should of soaked the entire thing in olive oil for a dayu before youused it.

Do you guys think the soot/burned shisha adversely affects the way the screen performs? I guess it could potentially block the heat transfer but I can't imagine it'll be that drastic. Or is it just for cleanliness that you want to scrub every bit of black off?

Has anyone tried alcohol i(sopropanol, ethanol)? A good solvent ought to work quite well and a quick rinse afterward should remove any residue. I just got my screen and phunnel so I'll report back with any findings.
