Buford
I tried smoking some of this stuff at lunch today. I got it from a friend of mine who uses it occasionally in mixes to cut the too-sweet taste of some flavors, but I tried it by itself. It's a little strong on the "make you dizzy" scale and doesn't produce as much smoke as the flavored varieties.Out of the package the look and smell reminded me of black chewing tobacco. Smoking it, you get a vague molasses scent occasionally but overall it tastes kind of like cigarettes only weaker as it has little actual taste to speak of. The smoke doesn't smell incredibly pleasant. Not sure if I'll try that again.
yashman19
I just acquired a box of this, and am interested in trying it out. I know people say this stuff is for those with lungs of steel, and that the middle east smokes this stuff like nothing, but I gotta admit, I'm a little scared It smelt pretty interesting out of the box, and I can't really put a flavor on it, but I guess chewing tobacco would be a good guess If I ever get tired of the nice fruity cool smokes from my other brands, and feel like destroying my throat, I'll let you guys know how it goes... hehe
pavlakos_politakos
haha.i used to smoke that stuff constantly when i was like 14.my father would take me to a nice hookah lounge just about every day and all he smoked was Zaghloul(or saloum as it is also known).i would pull from it every time he looked away, got up,went to the restroom, and sometimes he just offered it to me.that stuff is mighty harsh and smells quite heavy.some tips;over fill the bowl(and i suggest you get a bowl just for this because that flavors gonna haunt your pipe forever),do not use foil or screen(you just put the coal directly on the moassel)and that stuff burns very fast so have another filled bowl by your side ready.i personally am sick of that stuff so....im sticking to light fruity flavors, heaviest im going is nakhla double apple. P.S. dont inhale it too much(youll get sick and kill your throat and lungs)its kinda like a cigar.
Ameen
Zaghloul is nasty Just smelling it made me sick, it's basically molasses tobacco without flavour...
Joseph
I like cigars and pipes, so I plan on trying Tombiek (I am not sure of the spelling) sometime. I want to do it the traditional way to, with coals directly on the tobacco.
Joseph
I smoked some straight zag, it wasn't harsh at all, no coughing. I love pipe tobacco and cigars, but this wasn't good liek those. I woudn't smoke again by itself, but i am oging to try mixing it with some flavored ma'assel
