Ender's Shadow by Orsen Scott Card
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
AND lots of other comic books.

YES!!! Another comic geek on the forum. Nubbs you rule!!! Favorite comics/graphic novels/one shots?

First of all, I know. Im an artist so I love all of Alex Ross' work. Batman: death and the city, Kingdom Come, Robin: Teenage Wasteland, Civil War series, 52 series, Marvels Marvels, Marvels Zombies[2 SUCKED], The Hood, War of the Dead, The Walking Dead.

I remember cracking open Kingdom Come when I was a kid. The very first page blew my pants off.

Oh, and joytron--check out the Diamond Age since it is also by Neil Stephenson. Takes place in the same universe as Snow Crash, but many years later. The focus shifts from cyberpunk to nanotechnology with a hint of steampunk. I personally liked it as much as Snow Crash.

Yeah, I knew I was going to get drawn in pretty deep. I'm a big Stephen King fan and about 3 weeks ago I decided to read the Dark Tower series so I went out and bought all the books. Started reading the first one right before I had my tonsils taken out.

Boss, book 3 gets pretty psychological and trippy, enjoy it. Blain is a pain (you'll understand soon smile.gif ). Edited by giant ninja robot

Finished book 3 (The Waste Lands) on Friday (I averaged about 105 pages a day) and started on Wizard and Glass. I'm also reading Hearts in Atlantis on the side.

I just finished reading Hell's Angels by Hunter S. Thompson. You guys will be proud to know that I read the entire book across several hookah sessions. It's a really interesting chronicle of the year or so he spent with the Hell's Angels motorcycle club, before he is beaten by them and forced to leave.

I started Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72, also by Hunter S. Thompson, yesterday.

Hell's Angels is amazing, in fact all of his stuff is, you should read the obituaries in Rolling Stone about him, such a trip

I always had a passing interest in journalism, until I read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and then again a week or so later. Now journalism is my major happy.gif . I hope that I can be half as good as he was some day.

Some characters in Hearts in Atlantis pop back up in Wolves of the Calla so you know smile.gif

The midsection of Wizard and Glass is some of my favorite writing ever....Loooove the flashback story.

Glad you're enjoying it Boss.

Besides text books, which don't count, I'm reading:

The Watchmen
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand
The Genealogy of Morals by Fredritch Neitzsche
and have read 5 pages of Simulacra and Simulation by Jean Beaudrillard--Crazy difficult read.

And the book I'm closest to finishing The Watchmen. Haha

Just finished Hearts in Atlantis, and I must admit that it was one of the best books I've ever read (this coming from a guy who read War and Peace at age 12). This is the first time in a month that I haven't read something everyday; I had to return Wizard and Glass to the local library, haven't gotten around to checking it out again. But yeah, Hearts in Atlantis was an excellent book. I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates a truly captivating story. I've often asked my mom and dad what the 60's were like and this book gave me a taste of that.
