Duckhater, next time post something that contributes to the thread a little more.

I think the price is decent considering you are getting a good amount of decent coal. At least I hope they are good!

Exotica's are ok coals, but i'm not sure they deserve the inflated price compared to other Japanese silver light style coals...

Ummmmm, why would one pay more for the exact same recipe of coal in a different format? Just curious....I'm not going to pay more for a pancake shaped like a happy clown just because it is...okay bad example yes I would.....but I'm interested to read the review Mech.

I feel the same way about Coconaras compared to coconut coals generally. Decent coal but way inflated on the price tag. That being said, I'll wait for a sale on these coals to try out once I run out. I was a fan of the original Exoticas and still am. If I had a choice, honestly, between Coconaras and Exoticas, I would still take the Exoticas because of the ashing, it flakes off in layers as opposed to powdering off into the shisha.

try em before assuming. The powdery ash that comes from coco's sticks to the coals so it doesn't drop in the shisha, all you gotta do is drop the coal on your ash tray and all the powder comes right off. With exoticas the ash seems to stick to the coal too much and i find myself dropping the coal over and over on the ash tray trying to get all the ash off, and then the coal cracks in half on me.

Exoticas are awesome coals for the money, but don't knock coco's till you try em.

I tried the coconaras, I still have some. I know what I'm talking about. I just dont particularly like what they leave in the shisha. It's almost like sand. When I go to fire the bowl back up, it tastes like coal. I never had that happen with the exoticas. The ash sticks to the coal a little bit by design, I think its a good design.

LOL, fine...exotica's suck because of their inconsistency in quality, and their tendency to crack during the heating process. Coco Nara is reliable and creates a more enjoyable smoking experience.

But then again, that is YOUR opinion.

You'll find a scant few of us here that actually don't like cocos. I think they are overpriced and add a small amount of flavor. I'll say, they are decent coals but I just don't like them.

Golden Canary Japs are still my ultimate goto but I really wanna try out these Exotica Japs and see how they stand.

2nd, main reason I think exoticas blow is b/c you never know when they are gonna f up your session. Sometimes great, sometimes terrible.

Yes it is opinion, but there are many shisha/coal deals where they are very reasonably priced. the hs deal for 3 packages of tobacco (tangiers for me) and a box of cocos is 45 bucks for 11.66x3 for the shisha = 34.98 ~35 so the cocos are only 10 bucks a box, and that is excluding the 15% off coupon But you buy the new exoticas for 12 or whatever. So if you don't prefer cocos that is cool, but everyone says they are way over priced even though they can be easily had with shisha for much cheaper.

It is completely my opinion, and I will never state it any other way, I was just talking about Coco's and the ftw....was my opinion...the way I feel is never factual just my preference. Please let me know what you think of the Jap Exoticas...despite the fact that I love Coco's...I have a box of exotica's I used last night, I prefer using them when I'm entertaining multiple people (as they don't notice the small things in smoke flavor I do) and are IMO the 2nd best natural coal behind Coco's, if these Jap's are better count me in as my new backup. I completely agree and always buy my Coco's bundled with Shisha or other hookah accessories because it does save a bit in shipping, and when bundled with the coupon...often I find that the shipping is free. I definitely can't find anything high quality reasonably priced where I live, so these bundled deals on these great sites is the way I go. Edited by duckhater

I agree with you Mech, Cocos just ash a little too weird for me, and I had to flip them more than I like to have to flip coals. If I'm getting naturals, I get Exoticas or HC Coconuts... If not its 3 kings or my new favorite, Easy-Lite Japs from MNH

Ok here it is:

Monster review

Fuzziness: 10/10. None of that cheap imitation stuff here!
Cuddliness: 7/10. A bit firm because of electronic parts

But I digress tongue.gif

I'll compare with Easy-Lite Japs, regular exoticas, Cocos, and last but not least the pinnicle of quality: Golden Canary Japs.

I've been using Exoticas for the last month or so and let's just say that I have a box of CoCo Nara's heading my way right now. I just find it a pain to have to cut the coals myself then having them pre-cut. Granted, I should have just taken my Dremel to them the day I got them all (probably going to do that to the rest of them to finish them off), but in the end I have a more enjoyable experience using CoCo Nara's.
