I have smoked using three kings and abu hitan, and coal2000, and personaly i have read one too many reports saying that one of the major health problems with hookah is the fact that the quick lighting coals let off more carbon monoxide and heavy metals, so i tried using the abu hitan and for the size and the price, i found them to last longer per square as compared to the normal size quick lighting disks, and to cost about the same minus a few pennies.  One thing i also found is that the disks smell for about 5-7 minutes after being lighted.   Also one of the hookah cafes near where i live(hookah source) swears by coal2000, but they also told me that they are notorious for popping, so i voted abu hitan but my experiences lack that of some others

Noxious smells are associated with low-oxygen, or reducing chemistries. A good example is rotten egg smell, dihydrogen sulfide. If we were close to the "surface" of Jupiter/Saturn they would probably smell really, really bad since they have reducing atmospheres. The upshot of all this is that charcoal that have "smells" are probably producing carbon monoxide. Odorless coals probably produce far less.Trivia time:If we had a gigantic glass of water and dropped the planet Saturn in the glass of water, it would float! Jupiter, Neptune and Uranus all have densities close to that of water, so the idea of a "surface" is about as resonable as talking about the surface of the ocean! Essentially the planets are largely liquid. Pluto is also believed to be less dense than water and capable of "floating".

I had some Natural's in my cupboard and didn't know what they were, just checked, I have those Nour identicals (Abo something or other) and also Nakhla coals (I'm assuming they're Nakhla as on the box are lots of boxes of Nakhla tobacco). I've tried the Nour identicals, whilst they don't smell once lit and produce clean ash and have great consistency, they take ages for me to light when compared to quick lites and also do not last very long. I'm yet to use these Nakhla's, atm I use UK made Swift Lite quick lite jobbies.
