HookahDuck
To break up some of the conversation I thought I'd ask what some of your guys' other hobbies are? Ie: What do you do besides smoke hookah?Im a senior in Highschool at a competetive performing arts public magnet school(Las Vegas Academy of Performing and Visual Arts and International Studies[Theatre, Art, Dance, International Studies, Photo, Film, Creative Writing]). Im a technical theatre major there. Im involved in litterally every production(we usually run about 6 or 7 full productions per season), as well as the musical performances(where we have a complete professional 9 section 40' tall mahogoney orchestra shell and 3 cloud sections). I hold the titles of Technical Director and Master Carpenter on nearly every show. I've recently gotten into design as of late, and im becomming more involved in the scenic design process. We run 3 houses(one of which is one of the only historical buildings in Las Vegas); The PAC which houses 55 batton sets and 5 motorized electrics and a 1400 seat auditorim. The Blackbox which holds 24 gridded battons for lighting that seats 60, and the TPA(the new house) which houses 48 GP batton sets as well as 2 perpendicular light ladders, and dedicated electrics to the audio truss lines and shell clouds. The TPA is rigged engirely in Multicore so that any line in the house can be an electric(light bearing) pipe, as well as 14 beams in the AP above the audiences head. There are 400 stationary speakers throughout the TPA which consists of 700 seats in the orchestra, partier, and 2 balconies. I cant forget to mention the 20 foot thrust stage which is operated by a silent "Linklift" lift system(which my parents company designed... ).I have a ton of stock photos from our shows, but most of them are 2+ MB's. I'll size a few down and post em when I get the chance. Also, as a few of you know, im really into cars and the local racing scene in Vegas.I have a 72' Chevy C-10 halfton short bed pickup which I've been restoring since I was 8 or 9. It was originally a 3/4 ton long box base model. I cut the frame and got the short wide bed from a donor truck. The 4 wheel drums were replaced with disks, and converted to a boosted setup. I had originally built a 355 cubic inch chevy smallblock, which put up 379 ponies @ 5700 RPM and 429 ft. lbs of torque @ 4000 RPM. It was a fun motor, but I simply couldnt turn the times that I wanted with a rat motor. This is the truck as it stands now:Motor: Chevy Gen III 454 7.4L BBCBore: .040" overCrank: Eagle cast 4.00"Heads: Aluminum Pro-topline 110cc combustion chambers. 2.25/1.88 valves. Moser Axles, Dorman studs.Rubber: Hoosier QWICK time PRO DOT slicks: 14x28.5"Without nitrous, the motor puts out 537 horsepower @ 5300 RPM, and 587 ft. pounds of torque at 4000 RPM. On the bottle with a 150 horse jet, She'll pound 642 horses @ 5500 RPM and 704 foot pounds of torque @ 4500 RPM.At the track that means 12.84 @ 114 dry. 12.12 @ 119 on spray.... dammit another jet change to my N20 would put me in the 11's... but im nervous to. Keep in mind this truck weighs 4835 pounds race weight, and is about as areodynamic as a rolling brick. This truck is also my daily driver, so going much crazier than this is near impossible. She gets about 6 MPG on the freeway...I'd go into the interior and stuff... but thats the boring partUnfortunaly, my digital camera broke a while back, and the only pics I have are from before the summer(before the big block)(sorry its so small)(the smallblock)(Now there is a 5" tach next to the a piller, and a pod holding my trans temp gauge and N20 pressure under the dash. The column shifter was removed and replaced with a B&M pro rachet shifter on the floor as well.)I also write a lot. Mostly poetry- a lot of it political. A few things have been published, but mostly its just for me. Maybe i'll post a few pieces..Im curious to see what you guys do!

Attila
i'm 19 so i go to university (faculty of law) and i realized in the recent years that i live for my friends mostly, besides music, which is clearly one of my most important obsessions. (I'm playing on the guitar but i don't practice enough to play it well - i'm planning to change this, but with exams, it cannot be helped). though i do not proclaim myself as an artist, i love to take 'artistic' photos. If you are interested, have a look: http://out-of-order.deviantart.com/ i also run a Linux operating system which may be considered as a hobby, because you can always learn new stuff about it to make it fit your personal taste though i'm not really interested (and absolutely a noob) in programming or related stuff. crepenchicha
I'm 21 and in college, too. A small Liberal Arts school in the Northeast. Shut up, I don't care if my hookah smoking is cliche I'm a double major in PoliSci and Geography, French Minor. I do a lot of activist-oriented stuff, play classical violin, read, cook and eat (like it's my job), and make porn.Oh, and I'm also currently trying to become a wine connoisseur... to go along with hookah and vodka and apparently all things bad for you. jeans
I am a college student who likes to keep stats for folkstyle wrestling (high school/college style) and play MarioKart instead of studying for finals. And drinking. Drinking while playing MarioKart. Oh, and knitting.

yashman19
I am a college student who likes to keep stats for folkstyle wrestling (high school/college style) and play MarioKart instead of studying for finals. And drinking. Drinking while playing MarioKart. Oh, and knitting.
No. freaking..way... Me and my friends thought we were the only ones who drank while playing mario kart... Infact, we even came up with a drinking game for mario kart... Have to sort of play using the honor system, but when the first place person finishes his first lap, he has to take a four count of beer, the 2nd place person who finishes a lap takes a 3 count, 3rd place takes a 2 count, and 4th place takes a 1 count. When you finish your lap, you need to drop your controller and take your counts, then pick up the controller. It gives the 4th place person a chance to catch up, since they have to take fewer counts. Also, whenever you get hit with any item, you need to drink a 1 count, but you don't have to drop the controller... And at the end of the race, you need to take one more set of counts for whatever place you finished in. With this system, it really makes the matches go back and fourth, and is quite fun, even for people who arn't as good. But to be honest...I'm the freaking man at mario kart, not to brag or anything Oh and also, my best friend (girl) taught me how to knit while smoking. I can make beenies now Its pretty fun to knit while smoking. Gives you something to do. jeans
WOW that is an awesome MarioKart drinking game, Yash! I'll have to play it next semester. Mine was pretty simple, two players (My friend Kyle and I have an ongoing battle over who is the better racer, before winter break it was 33-32 in my favor ), versus, nothing else. Start at the first track. Whoever loses takes a shot of vodka. Play all 16 tracks, and end up being completely gone by then end. I flat-out gave up on Donkey Kong Parkway, because those stupid coconuts kept hitting me. Annnnyways, knitting is fun I still have to finish my sister's Harry Potter scarf I didn't get a chance to do before Christmas.
HookahDuck
Haha.. when I went to go visit my friend in Penn State a few months ago, I ended up drinking and playing MarioKart in his appartment... Apparantly its popular =P

NERV
I'm currently in college learning to be a mechanic, I plan to eventually build my own super seven, not sure what engine it will end up with. My basic interests are hookah, cars, anime, and music.
dizzing
hey, those yamahas are nice basses. i used to work in a music store, and when there wasn't anything to do i'd just try out all the basses (playing sickening renditions of tool songs ). yamahas are top notch, to be sure.anyway, my hobbies are music and woodworking. i suck at the latter, but i think it's a lot of fun. i play trumpet semi-professionally and in the west virginia university jazz ensemble and latin big band, play steel pans (you know, those caribbean things like in the girls gone wild soundtrack ) in the wvu steelband, and guitar when my friends and i get together and decide to be a crappy rock band. as far as woodworking, the only cool thing i've found an ability to make are steel pan mallets. if any of you actually want a pair (hey, you never know who plays these things) just let me know, we'll work out a price on some custom, handcrafted sticks which are far and away better than anything you'll buy online or otherwise . Guest Abide
19 and a college student here too, majoring in Computer Science (programming nerd woohoo!). Besides the obvious hookah smoking I've become quite the pipe afficianado and really enjoy it, i would say just as much as the hookah but they are too different to really compare. So heres my pipes. I used to be big into car audio and all that when i had my 98 accord coupe. I rewired the entire dash lighting and had a sweet stereo system in there, but I got rid of it May of last year for an 05 Honda S2000. Ive worked on the clutch a little, but thats it for performance. Maybe some exhaust and a s/c or a turbo this summer. Last trip to the track i made 5 runs. My best was a 14.425 @ 99.8MPH was hot in the summer and my first time ever taking it out. Dumping the clutch at 6000 rpm is a rush every time! Other than all this I basically just chill with friends all day on my giant bean bag and watch tv and smoke. HookahDuck
Nice looking S2k Abide. Many aftermarket companies make turbo kits for that motor. For about 2G's you could have that car in the solid low 13's =)
dizzing
god damn i want an s2000... been a honda fan ever since my 1986 accord hatchback lx-i :)very nice....*goes off to mourn the fact that the s2000 is far too expensive *

pavlakos_politakos
i am a junior in high school and i like to leave school alot with my friends to go have fun and occasionally hangout with the cops when we get caught playing hooky.i play video games alot(im a PS2 fanatic!!!) and spend alot of time on the computer.so when im not smoking arghile, dinking, playing hooky, playing ps2,or playing on the computer im out with my friends smoking hookah,at a greek cafe,or at my own or at a friends house party.all of this obviously leaves no time for school(who needs it?)so its probably why im failing all my classes..ill have to post sum pics. HookahDuck
Pavlakos! You need to take care of business before you do those things man!I should bust out the ole' PS2 one of these days... I havent played it in forever. Its not like I have a ton of time to kill though
Guest Abide
lol I wish it was only 2 Gs any other honda and i could turbo it for nothing. the one really nice reliable kit is 7k and a s/c is about 4500. I could get the final drive gear changed out from a 4.10 to a 4.57 and go to town in the mid to low 13s. Most people can break under 14 under decent conditions. I may try it again when i get some new tires, but day to day its a BLAST to drive. people always say how inconvient a 2 person convertible is but I love it and just couldnt get rid of for anything less than a new z06 now. And thats NEVER gonna happen.
