illiniSAC
Does anyone have problems with Coconaras and natural coals in general going out where they're touching the bowl?I light my coals with a propane torch since I don't have a hot plate around and I'm wondering if that's the problem. Not getting them hot enough to start out with?Anyone know of a cheap portable hot plate?

You must be using a ton of propane to light those babies! You need to flip them every 10 to 15 minutes also, just like any coal.
Codename067
A single burner from Walgreens at 10 dollars will work very nice as well! And always flip the Cocos..they are so flat that air circulation gets cut off in a sense so they go black fast.

Stuie
Walgreens Coil Burner for the WIN! Wife loves cause I am off her stove, and it gets them hot. 1000 Volts for $10 can't beat it. Flip them about half way through lighting so they light faster and more thorough
mjdx88
Is in just one side of the coal going out? If it is then the answer is simply flipping the coal over, honestly I do it when I think about it maybe 15-30 mins

But to answer a little more, I have used a torch burner and they always seemed to go out on me. Then I got a coil burner from walgreens for 10 bucks like others have said and they stay lit very well now because they get lit all the way through when on the coil burner. illiniSAC
Just bought the coil burner and I've thrown some Cocos on it. It's nuts how fast they're lighting. I'm a little worried about the heat sensitive sprinkler in my room going off in my room, but whatever, I'll deal with that if and when I have to
