logan91
hey guys, i hear that if i get the wrong brand of foil i could get an insane headache, i would like to avoid this, but at the same time, i want to avoid buying "hookah foil", which im sure is overpriced, i heard people saying dont get heavy duty foil, and put it shiny side down, i just wanted to go to a store and buy the regular rolls of foil, exept i really wouldnt know what to buy since i dont know whats right to get, does heavy duty foil say "heavy duty" on the box (i assume so)? if i dont see "heavy duty" i can assume its not heavy duty? does that also mean that its ok to use for a hoohah? what brand (from the grocery store) of aluminum foil do you guys use thats good for smoking? is it considered regular foil (since we are supposed to avoid heavy duty)? thanks
ioannisds
Yeah, hookah foil costs more, but to me it is worth it. Social Smoke sells a 100 sheet pack of foil, cut into nice circles, for $5. I don't smoke hookah every single day of the week, so the pack lasts me quite awhile. Plus, I have had much better smokes with hookah foil when compared to the regular foil I have used (I am not sure why). AND, you don't have to cut the foil up yourself before smoking. I guess what I am trying to say is you are paying for convenience. Now, if you smoke like 15-20 bowls a day , maybe you should hit Costco and buy a giant box... nihilocrat
Normal store-brand foil does me just fine! Then again, I haven't ever smoked with 'hookah foil', so I might not have a very balanced opinion. The store brand is actually a little thinner than name brand foil, which is actually a good thing, since it allows more heat to transfer from the coals to the tobacco. If you want to be really anal, you might want to use a small bit of heavy duty foil for the chimney to keep less heat from dissipating. Then again, you could always just use the store brand foil and fold it over so it's twice as thick.
Brad
I've used heavy duty foil, normal foil and hookah foil and never noticed a difference. The hookah foils were nice though because you didn't have to tear the pieces out. But hey, if tearing foil into a square is too much work for you... Sonthert
You can get foodservice foil that "pops up" like a box of Kleenex. A box of 500 is a bout $5. Its kinda thick, not heavy duty, by any means.
