Shisha or Nargilah?

Greater Syria calls it Narghile or nargeeleh this is Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and like he says  Greece too. Turkey also.

The mention that the Arabic word for grass is Chashishe. Chashishe is Hashish which is not grass. The word "assasian" comes from "hashish" since the boys would toke up  before they went on their merry way.

Eh, in public, everyone here just calles the activity smokign "hookah",
and the tobacco "shisha". No one really cares to sound that traditional
by calling it a argileh, so its just hookah here in Northern
California. Atleast at my school.

They say that "shisha" is Persian for glass. In India they call the whole thing "hookah". I checked this in a few places, also narghile for "cocout"( no need for water). The main thing is that we enjoy it. sheeshabum

In Turkey it is called Nargile, origin is Indian word coconut = "nargil" as you might have guessed first nargile was made of coconut shell and used for smoking hashish not tobacco around two thousand years ago ^^
