Where Do You Buy Your Shisha?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what your favorite supplier of shisha is. Here in Raleigh, NC I buy all of mine in stores. There are 4 good places to buy it within 5 minutes of NC State's campus: 3 different middle eastern grocery stores and one hookah bar (not a great one though).
However, the only brands they really carry are AF, Nakhla, Al Waha and El Hennawy, and the selection of flavors isn't very wide. Of those, Nakhla is definitely my favorite, but the only flavors I have access to are a bunch of different fruity ones. I have recently tried Al Waha Cola and Cappuchino and would really like to try more of the darker, smoother flavors in a better quality brand, but I cannot bring my self to buy some Nakhla caramel online for 8 dollars plus shipping when I can get Nakhla peach for 5 dollars in a store.

Anyway, those of you that buy online, is it worth it to pay double the price for some of the different, less available flavors?

If I'm desperate and can't wait, I buy from the shop in town here at IUP. Back at home(Pittsburgh), there is a shop I go to for Nakhla and charcoals, cant beat their prices. Other than that, all my shisha goes through H-S and HC. HC gives me 15% off on tangiers...a kilo comes to $33 which is about $8.25 per 250g....

As for the question about double the price. It depends on what it is. I know Tangiers Schnozzberry wasn't in stock for a while, and I would have paid double for it because I love the flavor to death.

of course, you need to experience it all, tangiers especially. What about all the other great flavors nakhla offers?

Definitely buy online. If you buy from hookahcompany they offer a coupon for 15% off. Search on the forum and it is very easy to find. (I think the forum is trying to keep the coupon codes in one thread) And if you buy even 40 dollars worth of shisha that is 6 bucks off, and shipping from hookahcompany usually doesn't go higher than 5.99-6.99 unless you buy a hookah or a shit ton of tobacco. So the coupon ends up paying for the shipping. So technically you receive free shipping.

Also nazarhookah does flat rate shipping for 5.50. I live in MA and they are located in FL and it was 5.50 for me when I was planning on buying 2 hoses and some shisha.

Lastly mnh offers pretty good shipping prices as well. They use usps as one of their carriers and usually it is about 7-8 bucks for 2-3 day usps priority shipping.

So as you can see many vendors offer good prices for shipping and coupons that make it more than worth while to buy online. On top of that you get to choose from a wide variety of brands and flavors.

Hope this helps.

i always read up on tons of reviews before thinking of buying flavors online. really helps out on picking the right one, but sometimes i just go to my local hookah bar and try out the different flavors they offer. most of the hookah bars at my place buys online internationally, since there is literally no whole sellers of hookah products anywhere in my country. i also get help from my local hookah shop to order stuff for me.

So i buy everything online. But your the first person i have seen say that they have a local shop that is hal the price of online.

all the places that I know of in Atlanta only sell quicklite coals and mya or Sahara hookahs. However I will say that the Mediterranean bakery up by spaghetti junction has tons of different AF shisha, most parts you'd need, and they are touch cheaper than online.

In Norway it's hard to come across anything other than Nakhla or fake AF in the stores where you can buy shisha. And there aren't many stores that sell it, since there are no health warning label in Norwegian it's actually illegal to sell.

So ... online for the win. My favorite is MNH, mostly because they go the extra mile and try keep your package from being viewed as suspicious when entering the country. Props! Havn't gotten taxed for a single gram of tobacco to this date.

Well, im including tax and shipping when I say half the price. I can buy a 250 gram box of Nakhla for 5 dollars locally. Whereas its 8 dollars plus tax and shipping online. Even if i use discount codes to essentially remove tax and shipping, it's an extra 3 dollars per box. There are at least 4 flavors that i cannot get in town that i want to try, so thats an extra 12 bucks. Its really not much I guess, but I'm a poor college student.

I might just talk to the guy who owns one of the middle eastern grocery stores and see if he can get some more flavors in stock.

I usually order online, from MNH and HC. At home I can get AF, Nakhla, Hookahhookah and HookahFreak, but its way overpriced. They sell the 250g of Nakhla and AF for 15 bucks... its a joke. If I'm at school, theres a place about an hour away, but its right on the way, and I can get Nakhla 250g for 5 bucks, so I usually pick some up there.

I purchase all my stuff in stores cuz I dont see the point of buying online. THat and I dont smoke a lot so what I buy lasts quite a while. Anyway if you really want to try some new flavors and such and you are cool with the store owner of the middle eastern store talk to him and simply ask him to order like 250g or something like that of the flavor you want to try out along with his next shipment which I imagine should not be too much of an issue. If that doesnt work than go ahead and buy online.
