the Dahaka
Can anyone explain to me what exactly causes the buzz in some kinds of tobacco? I understand it has a bit to do with nicotine tolerance or lack of it...but surely that can't be all? Also, how is it even possibly to get a buzz when you don't fully inhale? Please enlighten me... yashman19
Well firstly, think about the smoke entering your lungs. Thats smoke, replacing oxygen which normally would be inhaled. Lack of oxygen to the brain definately has something to do with buzz. Also, even if you are not fully inhaling, just the smoke in your mouth can get nicotine in your body. People who smoke cigars get thick buzzes all the time... Granted, cigars have quite a bit more nicotine than hookah, it gets absorbed in the pores in your mouth, underneith your tounge I believe? And finally, some tobaccos contain more nicotine than others. As I have found out, some brands "wash" their tobacco while others don't. Some brands that wash are Al Amir, Al Fahker and Romman?? Can't quite remember. But then brands like Nahkla or Al Waha don't wash, so these brands tend to give a little more kick.
mushrat
Well..the nicotine will absorb though your mouth. So if you have the smoke in your mouth, you are getting nicotine. Plus if you are even inhaleing a little bit, its going to effect you, nicotine is VERY potent.
