jezter6
I just downloaded it to give it a go, and while it looks neat - it has one major flaw that I'm not interested in.It appears it does not have the standard 'run' when you click on certain links, but it automatically downloads EVERYTHING into a folder on your hard drive.Like one of the bands websites I go to - they have a bunch of MP3s for download. Sometimes I just click on them to play them direct in media player where it downloads the file to a cache and runs it - then when you delete temp files, it's gone. With this, everything like that you click on goes to a downloads folder and you have to click to run them manually. Well, you can choose to have them auto-run, but it always saves it permanently in your download folder. Porn's the same way.
oolatec
Chalk that up to it being beta, and not having all the media plug-ins fully developed just yet. That's probably my major beef with it so far as well... but I am sure it will be taken care of, now that it is in public beta.
leadpipecinch21
i'm using it, and it's pretty legit.one thing i've noticed is that it likes to freeze up for a second randomly here and there...it's quite annoying, especially when you're typing a response on a message board, and you know you mispelled something, so you back space but it still gets messed up. Snoopy1966
I will stick to FireFox for now. liquidglass
I'm actually using Chrome right now on my class laptop (little thing compared to my monster personal laptop) and it's very speedy and extremely easy to use. Not my favorite but it's a great basic browser and is great when you need a quick browser to look up a few things or to use on another computer that's not yours. But I'm def. sticking with my FF3.1 with all my add ons, themes, and book marks

But as for the browser. It has a fishy EULA and its obviously doing somethings it shouldnt do beta or not. If they dont have all the plugins ready yet, then it should just tell you hey we dont have the plugins for what your wanting to do yet, this is beta afterall. But appearently it just downloads things to your harddrive, potentially harmful things. Im just gonna stick with the trusted FireFox and Mac. melanko
It has really great potential. It's built off the same WebKit designed by Apple for Safari and shares a lot of features with Opera browser. But after reading that EULA I'm probably going to hold off on it for now until they make a couple of changes. Here is a couple interesting articles I've read about Chrome:Serious Security Flaw7 Awesome Things about Chrome10 Things we'd like to see in Chrome
ghostofdavid
The EULA is pretty insane. Thanks for pointing that out.

Click
They changed the EULA. So no worries about that now.I am actually using chrome over FF 3 now. I just like how basic it is. The history page is awesome, the incognito, plus a lot of other small things. Like when you are pasting in a link in the address bar you can just put "Paste and Go" and it just auto. starts loading the page. The new tab feature is great where you can click and drag out individual tabs and create a new window and then drag them back into their original window if needed later. And the address bar acting a Google search bar and an address bar in one is awesome. As far as the downloader doing everything automatically, just go on the top right corner and click the wrench and go to options. Under the Minor Tweaks tab check the square that says "Ask where to save each file before downloading" Plus I never liked on FF how it opens a new window when ever you download something. In Chrome is shows the progress in the bottom left and lets you run the program straight from Chrome when it's finished.
willbb123
So they no longer have rights to everything you do? That was my biggest reason for not downloading. My dad is a recruiter for management positions, and he was going to download until I told him of the EULA. Everything he does is on line so they would be able to reproduce all the confidential things that he does.I'm on mac but I also have windows using VMWare. I might download when the make a mac version but I probably wont use as my primary browser because I am happy with firefox and dont want to switch everything again...
