TizaNabi
I downloaded it the day it came out not realizing the ammount of memory it takes to run it, so I took it off and went to Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 which has a lot of google's features plus more. I'd much rather be using google but so far no.
Click
While agree with the memory statement this is from anandtech.com when they did a review on Chrome."It’s closing the tabs that’s the most interesting: only Chrome actually frees up memory upon closing tabs. Chrome’s footprint is still larger than its original 26MB at 38MB, but the remaining three browsers continue using at least 70MB. The argument here is that these other browsers already have memory allocated should you open additional tabs, unfortunately you can quickly run into memory fragmentation issues with the conventional approach should the new tabs require more memory than the ones you just closed."So I'd rather get my memory back without having to restart the computer. Click
Sorry to revive this older thread, but I eventually switched back to FF 3 from Chrome. But I discovered a different version of Chrome called Chromium. It's the open source project behind Chrome. It is better than just regular Chrome. For instance on Chrome I couldn't click on the middle mouse button to scroll through the page quickly on XP (works on Vista). But with Chromium I can. And it is even faster than Chrome. Plus Chromium is the only browser I know of that scores a perfect 100/100 on the Acid 3 test. http://acid3.acidtests.org/http://code.google.com/chromium/On a side note, I don't even use regular FF 3 or FF 3.1 Beta when I use Firefox. I use Mozilla's pre-alpha browser known as Minefield. It's really awesome and has some features of Chrome that Firefox 3 doesn't have, like private browsing "incognito" and the ability to click on open tabs and drag them out into a new page. It scores 93/100 on the Acid 3 test. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/minefield/ Edited November 30, 2008 by click

Nima
i couldnt live without firefox's add-ons. Google Chrome also uses the same rendering system as Safari so its not exactly a breakthrough in browser technology
Click
True the add-ons are the shit. But Chromium and Safari 4 Developer both use the Webkit layout engine and are the only two browsers to get perfect 100/100 on the Acid 3 test. The next best being Minefield (93/100) on the Gecko engine that FF uses. Edited November 30, 2008 by click
Canon
what exactly does the acid 3 test prove?
Click
It means the animation has to be smooth and the final page has to be a pixel perfect match of the reference rendering. Hence to get a perfect score the browser follows certain web standards, especially relating to the Document Object Model and JavaScript.
