Help, Once Agian, With Tangiers

Recommended Posts

I don't really know whats happening but when I smoke tangiers it tastes kinda like dirt and feels like it in the back of my throat, it dries out my throat and has this scratchy feeling, not harsh, but scratchy. It seemed to lessen when I took one coal of but the smoke lessened a lot. I was using two 1" pieces of exotica at first and no matter how I pack the bowl or what flavor I use it has this feeling and bad taste. Anyone else know why that is?

Acclimate your tangiers for 24 hours more thats my first suggestion, second are you managing the coals? ashing them, moving them around? are you sure you're packing the bowl right? Try the noob method and see if that works for you.

Are you using a windscreen? Try one coal or better yet two halves WITH the windscreen. Sometimes I've found to get the heat just right with the size of the coals I'm using requires use of the windscreen, especially if there are air currents in the room from an air conditioner or ceiling fan or something like that.
