Help With My Km

its almost impossible to get the grommet in and out of the base.

even when i wet it, its still very very hard to get it in.


after an hour - 2 hour smoking session trying to get it out, is nearly impossible

any tricks?

only thing i can think of is applying some good `ol brute force. but not too brute, you don`t want the base to break.

you can always shave down the grommet...just wrap some sandpaper around it and twist. it'll gum up quick, but just clear it out and keep shaving.

This should help, but dont do it too much, hence it may become loose and well you know the rest. IMHO The tighter the better

Shave that grommet, use some ky to get it slippery.

Imagine if you were having similar problems in the intimate department.

What kind of hookah is it? if its not a KM hookah it wont fit and you will need to use it without a grommet and use tape or bandaids instead

You have 2 choices:

1. Sand the grommet down with Sandpaper
2. Use some sort of oil to help it slide in.

try using a dab of soap...it should help

Just use soap so it will slide in easily and then when taking it out hold the base tightly and move the stem from left to right.

After a couple of times of doing this the grommet will begin to fit better.

I had the same problem. I went to the local middle eastern store that sells hookahs and they had two grommets, one that was like the one that came with the KM but a little smaller but silicone so it doesn't stick, and a grommet like that comes with a QT, basically thin silicone without the 90 deg bend on the top and fins.

I put the ones with the fins over the other one and bingo. Its great. Just a little moisture and the stem slides right in and out. It's great.

I used a very small bit of non-toxic grease when I first got mine. I haven't had the problem since.

I put the junction of the stem/vase under running water and twist. Makes it hella easier.

A lot of vendors actually widen the grommet to make a tight fit before shipping out or selling the hookahs...

If you take off the grommet, there's a decent chance there's already some masking or electrical tape in place to widen it, you could just take some of that off. Alternatively, as someone else suggested just pick up a Mya vase grommet, they're silicon if I'm not mistaken (as opposed to rubber) so they are a lot easier to slide in and out but still provide a great seal. They're also easily stackable on top of each other if one is too small, so it never hurts to have a few kicking around.
